Can someone explain the cut and bulk concept to me.
I'm 5" 7 and 165 lbs. 27.5 BMi.
I want tobe my best self, as in no man boobs and no belly.
What's the course of action? I'm guessing cut and do some SS? I have 4 months to train before I enter Uni. Help me /fit/bros!!

Cutting is losing fat by eating at a caloric deficit, i.e. Eating less calories than you use in a day
Bulking is putting on muscle (and often fat) by eating at a surplus and lifting heavy ass weights

So I guess I need to cut since I'm overweight.
Do I lift and run while cutting and dieting?

GOMAD + SS

Are you memeing me?
>>36864166
Don't do this
OP just lift and cut down to like 145/150, then do a clean bulk
>>36864097
Calories deficit + lift
You can add a bit of cardio, HIIT

Read the sticky, then come back and ask questions. Right now everything you have asked is answered there.

Basic idea: it's real hard to be anabolic for muscle and catabolic for fat at the same time.
So you alternate.
Bulk = anabolic for both, but skewed towards making more muscle than fat by lifting a lot. Much gains, but you also get fatter.
Cut = Catabolic for both, but skewed towards losing fat by lifting a lot. You lose fat, but probably won't make any gains unless you're a noob.

yaeah bro
lift on days 1 3 and 5
cardio on days 2 4 and 6
fDo PPL (push, pull, legs) and diet
you will see good progress
How often should I have a refeed day while cutting?
>>36864483
>literally midget proportions
this meme has gone too far.
>>36863976
Sure do SS, if you want to look like a chick that is.
>falling for the SS meme
>>36864483
You don't need re-feed days, it's only going to slow you down, just stick to the diet.

OP no way I'm 5'7 and around 165 Ibs too. I'm swole af tho. Keep at it!!! Those manlet gains will kick in.

"Refeed" and "cheat meals" aren't really a nutrition strategy, they're a behavior strategy. Some people need a break every once in a while to stay on diet, some people do better if they're strict all the time. You have to figure out what works for you.
