What options are there for stuff like aches in your back anyway? I don't have access to my roller, but my lower back's been killing me the last few days, not sure what stretches really target the area.

Have done, he says it's just muscular. Feels like a tightness on the left side of my lower back mainly, down to just below my hips, and hurts less after a workout, once I've warmed it up properly. Just not sure how to address it.

find a physio who have experience with lifters or experienced strength/weightlifting coach

You should also check your technique in all lifts involving loading of the spine.
find what helps the symptoms and what aggrevates it. do more of the first and less of the latter.

Admittedly, I just saw my doctor to make sure it wasn't anything beyond muscular pain that would need surgery or some shit to handle, or specialised treatment of any kind, haven't seen a physio.

I will check technique though again, and mainly just lying down or prolonged standing stops the pain.

Is there anything I can actively do short of consulting with a physio? I'll make an appointment if not, but it'd be much easier if I could just handle it myself.

Just do as i said. More of what relieves the pain and less of whats aggravating it.

if you sit for prolonged periods and you get pain from that then stop sitting for so long.

back pain is difficult, and i dont know what else you can do.

Yeah, that's true, I figured he'd know if I'd fucked something seriously though, and he didn't even think any further testing was required, so I'm pretty sure it's muscular, especially seeing as warming up helps it.

I'll make an appointment with my physio then I reckon, and try to sit less in the meantime. cheers anon.

I used this for my glutes for quite a while as they'd tended to get pretty tight. Helped release the tension pretty well.

Literally have no idea what you're talking about. If it's used properly it can be pretty handy to have
