How do you make friends brahs? I don't mean just friends

I feel like I'm always the one who has to initiate any type of interaction when trying to make friends. People tell me I'm intimidating or I look like I'd be some kind of Chad.

People always just come up to me in the gym and start talking. We work out together and it goes from there.
