I have really tight calves/hamstrings and it hurts to do forward bends and any movement without bending my knees, especially on my right leg. What can I do to fix this /fit/?

Stop sucking so much dick.

Do I need to state the obvious? Stretch. You will need to keep your knees bent when doing forward folds (for example) as you release your hamstrings, over time you won't have to.

well, besides that.

I've been doing yoga for about a month now and it still hurts like a motherfucker.
Is there any specific stretch I could be doing to speed it up without risking an injury?

If you're not willing to change, why are you here?

I have this problem too, though I am still not convinced there's not more to it.

Think it might be an injury or short hammies?
Those are my two main suspects
>>
I used to have this problem before I even started lifting. I'm 6'3" and would have lower back pain/I couldn't bend forward.

This is purely because you have tight ass hammies and need to stretch. I don't mean

>hurr durr I stretch before I workout

I mean you better stretch atleast 15 minutes everyday just doing toe touches. Look up leg stretches and you'll be fine within atleast a week.

Foam rollers will help. Are you overweight? I'd also look into supplementing Magnesium.

I'd try Googling "safe hamstring stretch/hamstring stretches for injuries" for more safer options.

I'm not overwight at all. I'm actually pretty fit. I just don't stretch as much as I should, which is why I started doing yoga in the first place.
I'll try this out, I'll also look for yoga poses that might help.

Just stretch m8. 10-15 minutes a night before bed

Sit on the floor with your legs in a V and lean forward
Bring your feet together and push your knees down- butterfly stretch
Bring one knee in and keep one leg straight, lean to the side and touch your outstretched legs
>>
When I'm stretching my hamstrings I get pain above calves and a little bit somewhere in glute area, but I don't really feel the muscle itself. Is that normal?
