Hello /fit/
found this barbell set on local classifieds, thinking about buying it to train my fat little brother who's not old enough to go to the gym with me at home.
2x barbells
1x short barbell (is this considered a dumbbell?)
4x 10kg
4x 5kg
2x 2,5kg
6x 1,25kg
Total 72,5kg plus the bar should be 92,5kg, it should take a long time until he can outlift 92,5kg.
All things considered, 25€ plus fuel for 110km, is it worth it /fit/ ?
>it should take a long time until he can outlift 92,5kg.
What?
That's like almost default deadlift weight
Should take him a month or two tops to reach that, and then squat will be right after.

He's a fatty dyel 11 year old kid, so realistically the only lift he might be able to max in a reasonable time frame is the deadlift, in either case I can still buy more plates
>>36654797
Oh, I didn't know he was that young

That bar is not 20kgs, standard bars are like 8kgs max but they are all different

You're not wrong, but lifting with shitty ass tiny weights vs standard big oly plates makes a huge difference for deadlifts. You're so much closer to the floor.
>>36654744
getting more non oly weights is super easy too because people buy them and never use them
>>36654744
Do it and buy more equipment as you go along.
def go for it, all that stuff would cost much more than 25 euros (I payed 20 euros just for the bar)
>>36654757
Fuck you, I started with 55 kg deadlift at 65 kg BW.
>>36657240
Yes but how old were you ? The kid in question is 11
>>36654744
thats _really_ cheap.. do it!
>>36658516

>>36658543
