Things you don't need to make it:
>Discipline
>Work ethic
>Autistic micro-managing of every facet of your life to squeeze out the utmost possible of gains

Things you need to make it:
>Soft skills
>Zest for life
>Optimism

If you look at successful persons, be they champion athletes, movie stars or successful business men, you will notice that none of them autistically obsesses about their field as /fit/ does. On the contrary, the obsessed guys never make it to the top.
>>
>>36592792
>champion athletes, movie stars or successful business

Those things literally have nothing to do with becoming large and lean. In fact, the things you listed first are exactly what you need to become large and lean.

You are stupid and you should feel bad.
>>
>>36592813
>Bodybuilding champions
>Not champion athletes
Bodybuilders are a very good example: Themostautistic athletes in the most autistic sport, yet even they are not as obsessed as /fit/ is.
>>
>>36592792
The difference between amateurs and pros is that pros train a lot less.

Example MMA:
>Amateurs: Hay Sherdog how can I juggle three SS sessions a week with my Muay Thai, MMA, Judo and BJJ, also, should I do my sprinting and push ups on MMA or on lifting days?
>Pros:1 hour of padwork and groundfight 3x a week, "power training" with sprints and machine exercises for 30+ reps 1x or 2x per week
>>
>>36592813
American spotted. Why are you so obsessed with suffering?
>>
since ''making it'' is really bvroadly defined it could mean anything from becoming a successful athlete to becoming a social butterfly.
and you best believe that any athlete needs a flawless work ethic alongside talent if he ever wants to go anywhere.
also, you can train your ''soft skills'' (fuck that term) in the same way you train a muscle. and that shit takes discipline too. same goes for optimism.
all you need to do is figure out how your conscious ''manual'' mind can reconfigure the deeply ingrained subconscious patterns, which coulour your perception of reality in such a way that turn them more receptive to positivity.
>>
OP confirmed to be a pussy determinist. You're probably from a socialist nation, or want Bernie Sanders to be President.
>>
>>36592792
>you will notice that none of them autistically obsesses about their field
You think olympic athletes got to their level by 'casually' working at their sport?
>>
>>36592813
the only things you need to become large and lean is money and syringes
>>
Yep. Usain bolt is the fastest man alive. Look him up he literally won the genetic lottery. He didn't take shit seriously ever. Everyone only gets so fast. It all comes to reaction and pushing off the starting blocks which the motherfucker is obviously the best at.

He inspired me to get into sprinting even at 25. I was a born sprinter and have an identical height and build of tyson gay. I was born fast as Fuck But got fat in 3rd grade which ruined that dream for 10 years. These guys retire in their early 30s. I feel i can still kick ass at whatever league i can find.
>>
>>36593240
>build of tyson gay
But are you actually gay?

Not OP, but I see where he's coming from. For example, I have never ever tried in school, but I was born reasonably smart. Floated by just doing enough not to fail.
Did really well on the ACT so my college gave me their highest scholarship to go there. Now I'm graduating with a computer science degree and I already have a good job lined up.

Just by being lucky in genetics I've lived life on easy mode.
>>
>>36593320

How much do you squat?
>>
>>36593320
it happens. but if it happened to everyone luck would not be luck.
and luck is nothing you can rely on. because once it runs out you have no real base to recover from.

and just because you might be a big fish in a small pond doesn't mean you would not potentially need a immense work ethic to a goal that would fit your frame.

let's say your goal is to build a fortune 500 business. you best believe it takes some work.
>>
>>36593441
1 hot gf x 5
>>
>>36593455
I'm not ignorant enough to say that generally that isn't true. But often there are serious amounts of luck that go into it too.

I just finished reading Richard Branston's "like a virgin". He describes most everything that's happened to him, and while some of it is hard work, a lot of it is sheer desire mixed with luck, and a charming smile.
>>
>>36593560
i get what you're saying but while that is probably to a certain extent that is true in objective reality, that is not the type of thought anyone with self actualization in mind should place too much value on.
because think about involvement. luck doesn't require you at all. you can't do luck so it really isn't worth considering.
all anyone can do is put in the work and get whatever comes in return. if it's failure you can draw lessons, if it's not you can expand.

also, i would like to think i've put in some hard work to have a charming smile.
i've trained the fuck out of that.
>>
>>36593666
Right, but OP's original statement is that people who hyper-obsess about those things fail to be as successful as those who don't.

This also isn't true because he's ignoring the hundreds of thousands who put in no effort and were failures because they had no natural talents.

However, I think the point is that, it is good to train these things if you are not naturally good at them, but people who have gifts naturally will always be able to beat you. No matter how much you learn, you'll never be smarter than Einstein unless you are born smart as hell.

Similarly, you'll probably never look like Arnold no matter how hard you train. So, try hard if you need to, but learn to accept second place.
>>
>>36592899
>pros train a lot less.

that's because they've already put in work doing the amateur shit

are you fucking retarded? try training like a pro see where it puts you at
>>
>>36593745
Einstein wasn't actually that smart.
He was smart and connected enough to understand the theories he barely got, and get away with lying about what he knew and that's about it.

Worst thread ever.

Which one of you is happy with your successes, by your own definition?

By what magnitude have you succeeded.

You fucks don't know shit.
>>
>>36593765
He was a genius, you twat. He knew exactly what he was talking about. Just because you're too dumb to understand relativity.
>>
>>36593766
I posted by what definition I was successful. Read the thread before commenting.
>>
>>36593745
i totally agree with your statement but i've come to a different conclusion.
the fact that probably nobody here will ever be the absolute #1 in any field ever is pretty much a given but i see no significance in it.
all we can do is try to become masters in out own right in our area of choosing. how meaningful we become to the grand to existence shouldn't really matter to out happiness.
>>
>>36593797
> Einstein wasnt smart
> pros dont train
> you dont need discipline

I've read the thread. Absolutely shit. Your contentions are completely wrong and are the ideas of a lazy person.

Goodbye.
>>
>>36593851
Lol. No reading comprehension. See ya
>>
>>36593867
> entire thread of multiple posters
> I've read them all
> hurr you dont have reading comp.

Kek. Answer my question then, elucidate without saying "read thread" since it's impossible to discern what came from who.

I assume you are OP or agree with him:

Which one of you is happy with your successes, by your own definition?

>>
>>36592792
>champion athletes, movie stars or successful business men
They all obsess about their field. Even with the best genetics you need to put in work, and in athletics take PEDs and carefully train and other "autistic" shit. All the best athletes have put thousands of hours into their sport and know ever facet of it. That's pretty autistic don't you think.

/fit/ doesn't obsess about bodybuilding at even close to the same level of professional bodybuilders. These guys are so autistic they have made their entire life about becoming larger. They spend all of their time in the gym to become larger, and they spend all of their money on food and chemicals that will make them larger. If that isn't obsessed I don't know what is. Arnold didn't come from war-torn Europe and become the greatest bodybuilder ever by using a lot of optimism and zest. That's retarded.

This thread is bait anyways.
>>
Op does make a valid point: the autistic hyper obsessives often end up coming short, because it is their own inherent mediocrity that gives them such drive and the habit of overworking. But they can never escape that inherent mediocrity.

Plus, making it to 'the top' in the broad social sense, i.e. Well paid corporate type job, attractive gf/wife, lots of friends, disco muscles and cool hair has more to do with optimism and soft skills than obsessive attention to detail or rigorous discipline.
>>
Going from obesity to the best shape of my life has taken hard work and obsession. Eating salad and thinking happy thoughts never worked. OP is a knob gobbling moron.
>>
>>36592792
>soft skills
Lmao enjoy your shitty sales job with your soft "skills"
>>
>>36594977
You're right.

Just relax in life, you're too autistic to make it.
>>
>>36592792
> movie stars, athletes, and highly successful business men don't have discipline, work ethic, or passion

Lol what part of lala land are you from? Aside from an extremely select few who are extraordinarily lucky, everyone else successful has those qualities. They just don't make a big deal about it and shitpost on fit to reaffirm themselves daily of their values. This is especially true if movie stars; you don't stick out 5 to 10 years of being a worthless nobody performing dumb skits for chump change while all your friends from school are making $$ on their day jobs if you don't have discipline, ethic, and passion (and a lot of delusion).

You faggots think successful people just privilege their way into success, when in fact you just don't see the work they put in and the ungodly amounts of uncertainty they had to face to get there
>>
> If you look at successful persons, be they champion athletes, movie stars or successful business men, you will notice that none of them autistically obsesses about their field as /fit/ does. On the contrary, the obsessed guys never make it to the top.

pretty much 100% wrong, and doing any sort of reading aobut truly successful people will show you this.

unless you count your manager @ mcdonalds as 'successful'.
>>
>>36592792
Did cara gain weight? Or shoop?
>>
>>36592899
Pros trained their skills and are now training their bodies because of exponential growth in ability to compete from the synergy between skill and body.

Basically you need to lay ground work for being good at something and then let a superior physique give you the edge.
