Should you raise your lower back when bench pressing? I am being told in the gym to arch my back when bench pressing but this video says otherwise. At this point i don't know who to believe, any of you guys know from experience which one to do?

Yes and keep your feet back. It will activate your glutes as you press.

Shoulders back, feet plated on the ground, ass on the bench, there will be a small natural arch to your lower back with is appropriate.

arch your back as much as you can and makes shure you keep your feet off of the ground while you hold your breath

arching your back makes you able to lift higher weights by lowering the ROM. that's all it does.

for aesthetics purpose/anything other than ego lifting, you should not be arching.

Ass is supposed to be on the bench

2/10 for making me reply

And protecting your shoulders. Gl bench pressing in 10 years time without using some kind of lower back arch, and good luck to your rotator cuffs. Dyels should not be giving advice.

You obviously never benched high weights. Not only does it protect your shoulder but it also increases stability
