if you're a lazy fuck like me, yes. i've been 'lifting' for 3 years and my 1RM is 2pl8.

for the average person who is willing to eat at a surplus, consistently, and lift, consistently, you should be at 2pl8 within a year easily. i did neither of those things which is why my bench isn't higher.

Depends on your bodyweight. A >100kg person would be able to bench 2 plates in no time while a 70kg one would need good training for around a year and then atleast one Smolov Jr. cycle. Ofcourse arm length, wrist circumference etc. also matter. A guy with good genetics might even hit it with 6 months of SS.

Back when I was serious at the gym, I was working out with 110kg 5x5 bp after about 1.5 years at the gym. I was literally addicted to working out and had a perfect diet. My other "friends" in hs barely had any progress because of shitty diet and only working out biceps and chest, and called me a "steroid abuser."

It's all about the amount of effort you put into the gym. If you really want it and put in the effort, you'll be working out with 95kg in no time.
