Why do fat people even bother losing weight if they'll look even worse afterwards?

you can get surgery for that
>>
>>35338924
Assuming that's the best he can ever possibly look including surgery hes probably going to live longer and feel better.

And there is no reason to make that assumption.

Most people on this board are fat, why post discouraging shit like this?

SHAME ON YOU ANON. UNMERRY CHRISTMAS FOR YOU.

I didn't about it, I look like a 400lbs hamplanet when I sit down bcus of all the loose skin
I'm 6'2 180 btw

How much were you before you lost weight?
I was 5'11 240'ish and now down to 190, and my skin doesn't look or feel very loose at all.
>>
>>35338935
Or you can FUCKING LIFT for that.

Your skin only looks that bad if you were very obese beforehand. I haven't gotten any loose skin after losing 60lbs a few years ago. (To be fair, I lost all the weight when I was 16-17. I think being younger helps as well.)
>>
>>35338935
You can get surgery to lose weight too. What's your point?

1. A number of people who lose weight never have a problem with loose skin and the degree of it varies based on genetics, how long you were overweight, and by how by how much.

2. A lot of people you see with loose skin are usually those who lose weight very quickly (gastric bypass) and/or supplement it with poor diet and never lifting which results in an extreme loss of muscle mass which results in the "skinny fat" look which is only further amplified by the loose skin.

3. It still looks better than pic related. Plus you get face gains and look and FEEL better in clothes (improved confidence), and seeing as most normal people are wearing clothes for most of their day, it's a win win.

4. Stop having unrealistic expectations of what your body should be. A tiny fraction of the U.S. population actually has aesthetic ripped perfect bodies whereas most people irl look disgusting naked in one way or another, and with 2/3rds of the U.S. being obese, by losing weight you automatically look better than 2/3rd of the population.
>>
>>35339001
you can't stop loose skin if your skin is fucked up. you either gonna have it or not. only thing you can do is not getting too fat to that point, after that only way is surgery. no matter if you lift, cut slow, stretch etc. nothing. literally.
>>
So they can finally get it through their fat brains that the stupid shit you do in life has long term consequences.

Quality of life is much better than when you were fat. Bitches don't even care about excess skin, they have their own flaws too. Me after dropping 190+ pounds. I'm 6'4 392 to 198

When I was 14 years old, I weighed about 94 kg, at 15 years old I've lost about 20 kg in 5 months. I've maintened it for some years, now I'm trying to get low bf%. Am I going to look like OP's pic?

>>
>>35341119
>and probably lost weight super fast
It really doesn't matter how fast you lose weight when it comes to hanging skin.
>>
>>35341157
Unless you were like 400lbs, i think it does. I probably wouldn't have any on my lower stomach if I'd taken it slower. But atleast I don't have saggy tits or anything and my stretch marks blend into my skin well
>>
>>35341119
6'1 I wish I could say I have lots of muscle from lifting but I really don't.
>>
>>35341178
No, not really. The skin just doesn't work like that. Either it tightens or it doesn't, it all depends on your genetics.

When I dropped 40 pounds, my skin wasn't that bad. It's a bit loose, but it doesn't look like shit. And it's been looking very good ever since I started gaining muscle mas.
>>
>>35341219
I was 250 at 6'3". Now at 190 and I don't really have any lose skin. Still got a little bit left to lose but looking good
>>
>>35341240
The skin adapts, it just does so very slowly. That's why medical health professionals recommend waiting 2 years at around 10% body fat before you consider surgery. So by losing weight slowly, you give your skin more time to adapt and the result is less loose skin. Though some areas where the skin has been stretched too far can never return fully to its normal shape, though that doesn't mean it won't do so partially.
>>
I lost 50 lbs and have no extra skin. Depends on how much you lose and how quick. even then you still look 10x better in clothes at least, plus if the skin bothers you that much, have surgery

>>35338949
on this board? no

but yes 2/3 of america is overweight/obese, so you are right a lot of newbies are fat.
>>
>>35341596
The skin does that completely independent of how fast you lose fat. The skin doesn't know how much it has to tighten to look normal. It just tightens when the tension is gone. Very slowly, but it does, always.

Professionals recommend to wait simply to see whether maybe surgery is avoidable (some people have very fortunate genetics). Also, when you cut away skin, the skin is gone. You want to keep as much skin as possible. People with loose skin don't have "too much skin", The skin they have is just fucked up.
>>
>>35341677
But losing weight very quickly (very large deficit) is usually accompanied by the loss of muscle mass which holds the skin against your body, this results in a more droopy appearance regardless of how much fat you've lost, even if only a moderate amount of fat is lost.
>>
>>35338924

There are some foundations out there that love donations of extra skin after bariatric surgery, to all the obese people itt don't give up, this was only made to discourage you.

And wouldn't lifting fix this eventually?

Im 6'4". 23 years old. Currently 290s ish lbs. I was 450. Thay said I loat the 160 or so lbs over the course of almost 2 years. I still have a gut, stretch marks of course, but not much loose skin to speak of.

Im looking to lose another 80lbs over the course of this year. Is loose skin something I really need to worry about if I havent had any problems with it thus far?

My diet is considered very large deficit. Around 1.2k cal a day. 120g of protein. Im purely dieting for now with no gym time other than the workout I get from my job. (heavy parts in an auto facility)

Im really really scared of OPs pic happening to me.

fitness is not about looks, it's about the lifestyle of having a better body inside and out.
If anyones going to make fun of someone who obviously put in the effort, possibly put in more effort than you ever have in your life to make a better change.

Because it's nice to walk to the other side of my house and not get winded.

Because they can move around again, without being restricted by their lard prison. Besides you can cover that with clothing.
>>
>>35343782
Lucky i'm only 26.
Shouldn't be too bad, just dropped back down to 190lbs.
A little bit of a stomach and man boobs, but not bad enough to cause excessive excess skin.
High water, antioxidant diet and clean cut and i can feel the skin already tightening around my stomach.
Which is weird because it makes me feel fat because it's the same feeling as when I had a bloated stomach that would push on the skin.
>do really skinny people feel this all the time
>>
>>35343905
yeah itll go back, i actually had a teensy bit of loose skin but it does go away.
>>
>>35343978
Good to know, I'm trying to not workout to get rid of excess skin.
>over working abs, get super skinny, have abs that are way too big for my size.
Things like that, is there anything else you can think of that would help?
Besides water intake, i've switched most my drink choices with non-caffeine tea.
I eat a ton of antioxidant enriched foods.
A vitamin E supplement.
And after I wash myself i do a quick rub down with lotion over my stomach and arms, once a week (saturdays) i usually do another full body before i go to bed.
Anything that might help?

>>
>>35345217
You'll be fine, it's only when you go on an extreme weightloss which you'd have to really try to do. All i got were some stretchmarks around the thighs and boobs.
>>
>>35338924
Exfatty here, loose skin is shitty but it doesn't change the fact that you'll look better when you're slim or the fact that you gain back your mobility, or the general quality of life improvements, or the fact that you won't be at risk of getting beetus or dying of a heart attack at the age of 40, etc.
I could get surgery but it's not terrible on me and I'd rather keep it as a reminder of what I achieved and what I did to my body before that. It's a part of me as a person and part of my story, my life.
>>
>>35347555

1. Dude looks like a bench+curlbro. Literally the only parts of him that have any semblance of size or shape are his chest, tri/biceps and front delts. He'd look less horrible (though still pretty bad) if he actually lifted.

2. He still will look MUCH better with clothes on. Yeah, maybe the girls will run in horror when he gets them to bed, but there are way more benefits to looking good. The way you're perceived, your ability to influence people, the service you receive, your job prospects and a million other things all improve the better you look.

3. There's still the part about not dying before you hit 35. Actually fuck death, let's talk about life itself. Do you know how much more difficult pretty much everything is if you're obese? Even getting up is something you have to put effort into. I can't even describe the feeling I got the first time I was at a hookah lounge where you sat at floor level and the dreaded time to get up arrived, then I realized I could pretty much raise myself up with almost no effort, because I now weighed 50kg less and had the balance and leg strength of a 2.5-plate front squat. I don't need stairs to look into the attic anymore, I can just do a pullup.

If life had a difficulty slider, its value would be your weight to strength ratio.

4. Being obese fucks with your hormones and in this day and age people usually end up depressed.

5. He can always get surgery.
