I would love it if somebody got me a fancy expensive kitchen knife. Think about how much chicken (and other veggies) you guys cut up a week. God this sounds gay but I've got some nice-ish cutlery (wusthoff) and honestly the best general purpose knife I own is that santoku blade that Rachel Ray sells (the one with the orange handle although mine is the nicer all metal one). I've had it for probably close to 10 years now and it's a great knife and not that expensive.
