How do I eat 3 healthy meals a day on a budget? Say, 75$ per week?
I found this video, but I live in a small town and there's no Farmer's Market or something like that.

Kroger has "Manager Specials" for meat which is pretty much meat that's about to expire on clearance.

It's high in sodium, but canned veggies are like $0.60-$0.75 each for store brand.

Food banks will give you a lot of spaghetti noodles, rice, tomato sauce, etc.

I eat on a budget of that too, and it's not hard.

I get store brand canned tuna, canned veggies, chicken breast, and some sort of white fish, usually catfish because it's locally farmed and cheaper than seafood. I also grill things on an electric grill, to cut down on cooking oil costs.

I spend about $50-60 a week and eat 1500-2000 calories a day.
>>
Eggs, rice, bean, fruits, vegetables, and chicken.
>>
I eat on slightly less than 50 dollars a week, 2300 calories, 141g protein, 230g carbs (with 0 shakes)

check out the "big on a budget" video series on youtube if you want.

things you may want: milk, oats, eggs, ground beef (or turkey if you want fewer calories for more or less the same protein amount), chicken, rice, tuna

pick and choose whatever is cheaper for you, plug it into myfitnesspal until you're happy with the total caloric intake that also fits your macro and you're good to go.

I've been doing eggs in the morning, rice+chicken for lunch, pasta+ground beef for dinner for about 2 months now, I'll probably switch it up soon-ish, but I like it so eh.

>tfw no gf :(

For a second I thought that was Sunny. Also, I know that feel. My friends treated me to a Korean BBQ place and the girl grilling our food barely spoke English or
French
Thanks, I'll check it out. Sounds like what my old folks used to make.

I spend around 170 euros a month, which would be less than 60 USD per week, and food is pricier in Europe, especially protein foods like chicken, eggs or whey

Prices will be different for you in the US but here's my grocery list and expenses

Farmer's Market (90 eggs, various fruits and veggies 5 portions per day): 25€/month
Grocery store (OJ, ham, whole wheat bread, pasta and rice, try to buy big bags of 5kg, frozen fruits and veggies, 4kg of ground beef): 65€/month
Myprotein.co.uk: I get big bags of whey and oats at least 10kg those last me for a while, peanut butter, fish oil, multivits, I buy in bulk then usually get 20% off: 40€/month
Butcher: 5kg chicken breasts, I ask him to give me a cheaper price because I buy in bulk then freeze them: 40€/month

TDEE: 2900
>>

I would kill for chicken breasts at 3.7 euro/pound

I'm in a small town and there's no butcher. The only place I can get meat from is in the supermarket, and chicken breasts are 18.62$/lb. On special, they'll drop to ~12$/lb, which happens once a month at best. Also there's no farmer's market for me to get cheap produce. The cheapest I can get bell peppers for is 1.25$/unit.

Guess I'll just have to shell out more and stop being a jew.
>>
>>34965310
If you have the time just cook. That is, if you don't already. Potatoes cost nothing. Produce costs nothing. Chicken and pork cost very little. Rice, beans, and pasta cost nothing. You can make healthy meals affordable for much less than that.
>>
>>34965583
Scratch that, it's 18.62$/kg, not lb. It's 6:25am and I haven't slept.
>>
>>34965543
Ask a local butcher for bulk prices. It's the same prices restaurants get.
I also saw other guys on fit saying they organize themselves with friends at the gym so they'd all buy their chicken together
The more you get, the cheaper per pound it'll be

>>34965594
That sucks. No butcher or market but there's a supermarket? You can also try looking up online bulk suppliers.

... You're in Quebec/Montreal, right?

If your goal is calories for weightlifting purposes, milk is your best friend. Our ground meat is also pretty affordable as long as you get the semi-weekly deals, stock up and freeze everything when it drops down to around 3.50$/pound (for beef). Pasta, rice, eggs are always cheap, but you might want to hunt deals for eggs too due to the enormous quantity a typical bodybuilding diet requires. Chicken breasts are pretty expensive but they also usually drop down in price by like 50% every 2-3 weeks (last deal ended just yesterday).

If you just want to eat healthy in general and you don't want to track calories and macros because you don't lift, then it's honestly much easier. Just hunt for deals and cook your own shit.

Yeah, it's a town of ~30 000 people, 7-8 hour drive to the nearest city of 500 000 pop. We have a Metro supermarket (I'm in Canada).

I just checked the flyer for the week of 19-26, and as luck would have it, chicken breasts and lean ground beer are on special at 5$/lb.

I just want to eat less frozen shit and lose weight. I seldom eat vegetables. The only time I eat actual fruit (not just drink juice), is when the raspberries go on special. Pretty sure I go over my recommended fat and sodium intakes regularly. It's also boring as fuck to eat the same fucking food all the time.
>>
My highschool powerlifting coach gave us a huge packet called getting big on a budget it was basicly a meal plan with example foods for a whole day of eating I'll see if I have it
