How does /fit/ deal with shin splints?

I haven't gotten them in ages because I've been only deadlifting with a hex bar, and only had problems with my shins when I deadlifted with a regular barbell for some reason.

Best ways to treat?

How do I tape them effectively and with what kind of tape? Or should I just google it

To much dorsiflextion when running homes, try doing some calve raises and work on your impact form.

Yes just put a tape over the problem, it will go away by it's self.

hacksquatting is more like it. don't pretend like you're performing a deadlift.

that or start biking/swimming

running can be too hard on your body sometimes. I started biking instead of running and i never feel my body ache or get shin splints anymore. I dealt with some neck pain when i first started but i got a more comfy seat and worked on my posture on the bike and the neck pain went away. Swimming has been god tier since the beginning of time no need to explain there.

>1. Tape pebbles in your shoes where the heel lands
>2. Run with the least amount of pain
>3. Keep running

Done.

Varsity track runner here. My whole team uses a tibia machine to fix shin splints in 2 days. Feels good to contribute. I don't know how it works.
