I play guitars like a faggot in pubs and bars for easy (and too fucking generous) money, keep quiet about it to the tax man to maximize profits. work for dominoes on a scooter 2-3 nights per week, tips ain't bad, work in a small tesco full of banter and work at a weekly farmer's market where i help build everything and then sell my shit with a mate.

life is good. this is pretty sustainable and i honestly wouldn't mind doing this for a little while. i make about £46000 per year doing this. i plan to start saving it up and buying property with it, eventually buying my own flat and hopefully making some sound investments along the way. i currently have no loan and no degree so i think i'm doing pretty well for myself. in the future i plan to open some sort of business in another city, possibly a gym, or maybe i'l just keep saving and see what happens.

there's a difference between being an escort and a manwhore i presume. sure you may have to deal with the odd oldish woman or the odd fat or smelly one but you can just go on one 'date', lead them on and take the money and leave.
and if you get one who you can bear to carry on seeing, say it's the wife of some rich dude, you could get paid hundreds of pounds simply to go on dates, talk about wine, smell nice, and finger them in their 4 poster bed at the end. i can think of worse ways to make money.

this reminds me of a school trip i went on. we were about 14 and we were studying work war one at the time, so we got to go to belgium and france to have a look at some cemeteries, monuments, ruins and old trench networks as well as various points of historical interest. one time we went to a trench site in france run by this insane old guy. before we got off the bus, we were warned by the tour guide not to go near him as he sells illegal stuff in his shop. so obviously we went and his shop was fucking packed with undetonated shells, undetonated MINES, hand grenades, old bullets etc. some of the shells were enormous. apparently the any of them could have gone off at any second. this was shit he'd found doing groundskeeping work around the trenches. one of my mates came home with a grenade and detonated it at a party, absolute madman. fucking top banter.

> Older sports players (over 20) probably don't have their parents to pay for their lifestyles anymore.

How do people pursuing professional athletics and sports actually finance themselves? I know some very privileged people have their parents pay for the lot of it, but all of them? Or should I just take out loans for the rest of my life and weep solemnly when I don't actually make it big and have to repay everything?

Sure, I'd love to have a couple beers with you. I make some crazy good sweet potato fries, they go really well with beer. It's probably the whitest thing to ever say, but I made a lovely batch of IPA that's just perfect for the occasion, maybe less so if you're cutting. Maybe play some Mario Kart 64 or SWAT 4 together too. If it gets late, I could totally put together some pulled pork with a nice and smoky BBQ sauce and you can call your mates over for supper and a kickass game of cards and whisky.

Doesn't that sound like a good time?

I just quit my job as a law intern ($12 an hour) to work at my dad's nightclub as a waiter/server (will only work Friday+Saturday nights and make average $200-300 both nights). My dad said eventually he'll make me a manager (I used to work there in the past and already know the hang of things).

I was gonna go to law school but decided I'd rather pursue a career in teaching English literature (my major) and am totally ok with the fact that I'm gonna end up an adjunct. I have a house + car + business already so fuck it lemme pursue my passions so that I live a comfortable and meaningful life. If I go to law school Im not gonna have time to lift and will end up miserable.

It is pretty close to engineering though. You learn how to design derivatives and financial products to respond to trends in markets. You also learn to design and implement trading algorithms. It's actually a lot closer to software engineering than Finance. Just because nobody risks being electrocuted or cutting their fingers at any point in the process doesn't mean it's not engineering.

Shipping and logistics for a major car manufacturer. We ship parts for cars and trucks of this company to every dealership on the eastern sea board. Job itself is easy albeit monotonous. Takes more effort to just show up than it does to do the job. Union shop too. Currently make $17.50 hourly. New contract rolling through though and I'll be getting bumped to around $21 in the next month or so. Then up to $30 over the course of 4 years. Full medical, dental, eye care covered by job. Profit sharing check each year with about $8k. Signing bonus for this contract will also be $10k. Company gives me $5k yearly for school as well.

Kind of fell into this job honestly. Father got me in as a temp employee. Busted my ass for a year as said temp and they hired me full time. Group of temps started with 14 people including me. We're down to 2 y the time I was hired.

Going to school for network administration. Currently in my capstone class for my AA degree.

I work maybe 10 hours a week maintaining my portfolio. Life is pretty good. Today was a rainy and windy as fuck Tuesday with temperatures just above zero and I spent it chilling in my house playing fallout 4. Also did some work on my DIY drone project.

Handling the cash is simple enough, pay attention to the transaction at hand and with any retail job, don't let dumb fucks get the better of you. Also to go above and beyond and learn what your bank offers, products, services and some aspects of the customer service rep side of things (people that actually open accounts and shit) to move on up. I do IT work. Field repair for government, and warranty work for a few companies my employer is contracted to support.

It pays ok. Its also reasonably lax, and Im not being micro managed every six fucking seconds. Theres a good deal of freedom, and physical hardware repair is something I am good at, so I enjoy it.

>all these ameritards and BA econ students

Anthropology and anthropological archaeology are hugely lucrative if you know where to look. If you want to develop new land pretty much anywhere in my province outside urban areas you have to have a full anthropological survey done. Plus if you do it for a university/non-local setting:
>paid travel all around the world
>decent pay
>always have something interesting to say
>getting fit/tan from being outside a lot
>still plenty of time to work out

Yeah, the only people who think anthro/arch isn't a good career path are people who have literally no idea what they're talking about.

But have fun sitting inside engikeks.

I moved to Austin two years ago and it's okay, but definitely not the best city I've ever been. Pretty boring if I can say so

Dog Walker. I make $30/hr and literally get paid to the same amount of cardio I'd be doing in my off hours if I had a desk job. Plus, my job pretty much consists of getting hit on by girls who think the dogs I'm walking are cute.

10/10 job.

>Dog Walker. I make $30/hr
I can't imagine anyone who would pay that amount of money for it

Rich idiots are everywhere. They pay that much where I live too.

What type/where? What's the pay like?

I'm considering joining Vancouver PD, I've read that the pay gets good pretty fast and the organization as a whole is pretty great. Never had a bad encounter with VPD, nor know anyone who has.

Austin is liberal compared to the rest of the state. Not Europe tier but maybe Massachusetts tier. It's all the good parts of Texas without the bad. Lots of high tech jobs in Austin as well, the populace is very educated, which is why it's more liberal.
>>
>>34947590
A lot of people, actually.
>>34947599
This.
>>34947605
Not this. (While definitely true, not what happens in my case.)

I live in a very affluent community. I charge $30/hr and have no shortage of clients. I also house sit when said rich idiots go on trips to exotic destinations and charge between $50-$75/night for 7pm-7am overnights in their lavish homes.

All you need is a pet CPR certification, and the ability to have dogs fucking LOVE you in front of their owners. Go target a rich neighborhood with business cards in every pet food store/vet's office/dog grooming salon/pet clothing boutique. Cha-ching!
>>
>>34947749
>Lots of high tech jobs in Austin as well
Compared to rural Texas - maybe. There is no IT market in Austin. I mean there is, but it is a joke, if we compare it to any big city around the world.

You're looking at having 10 Mil in your account to realize 88k from the average dividend.

Math degrees only pay 300k. If you invested all your money yearly you would need to see a return of 104% annual.

I'm a club/restaurant promoter., in other words, I stand on the street and try to get people inside my restaurand club.Obviously it is part-time (but the way I stack restaurants and clubs adds up to 8hr/day)

Now I've gotten a little bit bitter and tired from having done it for three years, but this job is amazing. It essentialy consists of me standing on the main street of Europe's biggest Old City and
- fooling around with other promoters
-picking up chicks
-practicing language by speaking to foreigners
Which doesn't sound like abad deal, does it?

Advantages:
- neither physically or mentally tiring
- the pay is ridiculous as for a student job, almast always it surpasses a good (7/10) full-time job's wage
- very entertaining , there is something happening all the time: fights, drunk people etc.
- feeling of being a hustler. Tourists want drugs? I call a guy,get commission fee. Tourists want whorehouse? I call a guy, get commission fee. Tourist want me to show them another club? I guide them, they pay me.
-the biggest advantage : you become impossibly at ease talking to strangers.Which implies, you also become great at picking up girls. Any and all of your anxiety/akwardness simply evaporates after 2 first weeks.

Disadvantages:
-energetically draining. Being full of energy and smiling all the time leaves you drained.
- one disadvantage, but it ruins the entire job : practically none future prospects.
