Any NEETS here that go to the gym? I'm NEET, but I have some money in savings. I have a problem with not eating enough though, I don't think I'd be able to afford enough food if I start seriously lifting.

How much do you spend a week on shopping? Do you have to look out for cheap deals and shit? Can you cook?
>>
>>34939328
I guess around ~40-50€.
It is about 7€ a day, Enough for decent food.
And no I dont cook often, I just eat as basic as possible. I am not the great cook.

Since I live in germany my main food is 'Magerquark' and 'Muesli', based quark with 60g proteins in 500g + delicious source of oats and fruit. Both is pretty cheap.
Main meal is mostly meat (turkey), either cooked or precooked with vegetables and shit.

Also as snack I eat fruit.

I dont know how much money you can spend on food but here in germany you get around 150€ a months just for food.
>>
I spend around 170 euros a month, which would be less than 60 USD per week, and food is pricier in Europe, especially protein foods like chicken, eggs or whey

Prices will be different for you in the US but here's my grocery list and expenses

Farmer's Market (90 eggs, various fruits and veggies 5 portions per day): 25€/month
Grocery store (OJ, ham, whole wheat bread, pasta and rice, try to buy big bags of 5kg, frozen fruits and veggies, 4kg of ground beef): 65€/month
Myprotein.co.uk: I get big bags of whey and oats at least 10kg those last me for a while, peanut butter, fish oil, multivits, I buy in bulk then usually get 20% off: 40€/month
Butcher: 5kg chicken breasts, I ask him to give me a cheaper price because I buy in bulk then freeze them: 40€/month

TDEE: 2900

OP lives in Australia where shit is expensive as fuck.
>>
>>34939393
How much money do australians get if they are NEET?
>>
>>34939407
$530 a fortnight, I also pay $145/week rent and fill my car with fuel at about $70 a fortnight. Monthly phone bill at $30/month too.
>>
>>34939421
Its hard to compare for me, but I get 400€ (601 Australian $) a month here in Germany. Flat, electricity, heating costs and health insurence inclusive.

So 400€ to spend on stuff.

Isnt 530$ a fortnight really much? Or are the food prices and everything much higher in australia?
>>
>>34939458

Its really not. That $530 is to cover basically everything and shit is generally expensive in Australia.
>>
>>34939421
>$145
Thats really cheap, get a job and get off centrelnk its not worth it
>>
>>34939458
>Or are the food prices and everything much higher in australia?

Correct. Chicken breast is currently $7.20/kilo at a major supermarket.
>>
>>34939488
I'm trying anon, there's fuck all work going on though.
>>
>>34939495
Meh, thats not even that much.
I pay ~7€/kilo chicken breats and get only 400€ a month.
>>
>>34939458
Its ok if you live with parents and dont have to pay for anything.
Some regular pay from an ok job would be around $1000 a week i think. Rent is very expensive in bigger cities, I pay 450 a week
>>
>>34939519

1k before tax, more likely around 800 after. Depends on the city a bit though.
>>
>>34939536
Yeah tax can get retarded, basically punishes you for doing long shifts.
>dad gets sick
>do 12 hrs shifts every day to help pay their bills
>get around $2600 a week
>only around $1800 after tax
>>
>>34939575

To be fair, both you and he should be getting a lot of that back at tax time if your income's been inconsistent across the year.

Still fucking sucks in the meantime though - one year the taxman ended up owing me about ten grand, which I damn well could have used during the year.
