I can't make progress on this. Once I got to 5x5 1 plate I stalled super hard. I tried deloading and working back up stalled again exactly the same. Fuck this exercise. Won't give up though.

Nothing extremely specific, just slowly microloading over time, I think you're short-changing yourself by not benching though. Lots of overlap in the muscles used, and bench and OHP tend to correlate. At least do incline bench or smth.

Honestly nothing helped me as much as nailing down the form, everything from grip to the motion itself down to the negative. Once you get the form down pat you'll see your numbers grow faster.

i use both as each other's assisance

1st push day is heavy bench (6x3) and a bit lighter ohp (3x6). 2nd push day it's reversed

(i also use incline db on ohp, and paused cgbp on bench day as 3rd, purely hypertrophy based exercises since it helps both bench and ohp (3-4x8-12)
