Actually not such a bad idea, OP. You still need to eat "clean" to a large degree, but 400-500 calories a day can be easily substituted with junk. Personally, when I was getting out of skellington mode, I used to make peanut butter & chocolate milkshakes in my blender just to force myself to gain weight. I've moved past that now though, but it takes a surprising amount of time to accustom yourself to eating more.

There's no such thing as "clean" or "dirty" foods. It's all made of carbs, proteins, and fats. The only reason cookies are considered dirty food is because they are very calorie dense but nutritionally poor. You can lose weight eating nothing but cookies if you maintain a caloric deficit, but you'll be very hungry and malnourished.

Im in the same boat OP. I am eating nutrient dense foods and I am having trouble meeting both macro and calorie goals. Carbs and fat are easy enough, but protein is expensive...
