So /plg/ my DL sucks and to improve my strength off the floor I started to do deficit DL for a couple of workouts now. The thing is after only a few sessions I am stronger on the deficit DL than on the normal one how is that possible ? Well if it were for my nutrition my regular DL should still be better than my deficit DL right ? Did them both today and failed at the weight on my regular DL and managed to do it AFTER that with a deficit it is really strange.

Maybe. I feel like it is something different though. on the regular DL I have trouble getting tight and engaging my glutes and hamstrings. On the deficit DL I can just pull myself towards the bar and get tight that way if you know what I mean. Somehow that just doesn't work for me on the regular one because if I do it I always get my hips too low.

Is it possible that I have some muscular imbalance that makes me better on the deficit DL or is it only down to form ?

Just increased weight for the first time on hepburn. So it was 8x2, this was the last set.

I started kinda low on hepburn, tested max without a proper peak was 185, decided to start with 150kg squats and this was 155 today.

I'm really happy with how my form looks now btw, I used to go way too low.
Also first time using my kneesleeves, really goddang comfy. Full memegear with the red/black wraps, powerlift2.0's and ruskie shirt.

The first time it happened I wasn't too upset because I forced myself to go back in and start gaining again, and reasoned with myself saying that setbacks happen all the time in life, that's just the way it fucking is and you have to deal with it, but when that happens twice in the span of only a few months I don't even know what the fuck to think. I feel like I've fallen into a rut, it's really taking a toll on me mentally. I know I shouldn't be worrying about it and I should just take it as what it is and get back in there again, but I really do feel like shit. Every time I go into the gym now I half ass it and can't bring myself to just push weight around because I'm scared I'm going to lose progress again.

How do you guys on here deal with loss of progress and other setbacks?
