4chan has at least a few people with a broad knowledge base on fashion with the vast majority being either underage or generally clueless mongs. I'd say there's a ton more more laughably bad fits here but If you flip through threads outside the waywts you can usually find grains of insight, especially if you ask directed questions knowledgeable people will come out of the cracks. I'd say most of these people crosspost sufu and stick around here for some of the banter and craziness that erupt pretty frequently. On the whole it's not a great place for fashion in general but at least it's funny.

Reddit tends to be the same formulaic pun responses and sappy constructive criticism that get groans from just about everyone but jump to the top of the page because of precedent + rules on what post content should be. You get a bunch of dudes posing in basic, boring garbage and posting basic, boring garbage and it ends up being basically unreadable. I just don't understand the motivation to go anonymously onto the internet and give nicely-phrased, pussyfoot advice to someone you know is dressed like absolute garbage (95% of /fa/ and mfa). If you look like shit and you put yourself out there you deserve to be fucking lambasted and laughed at. That's how I learned to buy actual nice clothing that reflect my personal style. Honestly, the /fa/ uniform doesn't get nearly as much hype here as it used to and people tend to promote diversity here to some degree. You're just inevitably going to have more interesting people come screaming out of this meat grinder than if you pat them on the back and give them a j crew ocbd and a lollipop.
