Does anybody beside Rick do this kind of elaborate, unconventional cargo trouser?
>DRKSHDW FW14 MOODY MEMPHIS "BLACK INSIDE" WASH DENIM TROUSERS FEATURE RIBBED KNEE PANELS, AN ASYMMETRIC COVER FLAP WITH HIDDEN ZIP POCKET AND HOOK-AND-LOOP FASTENING, A LARGE POCKET ON ONE SIDE, ONE HOOK-AND-LOOP POCKET ON THE OTHER SIDE AND TWO IN BACK. * COLOR: BLACK. * BODY: 97% COTTON DENIM 8 OZ. 3% LYCRA. * DETAILS: 100% LYCRA.
I love the idea but I've never liked denim as a fabric - I can't really explain it, but it's an anti-preference I remember back to the time I was a kid.

>>8476696
I've thought about that, but I'm also just interested in if anyone else has done something similar or if this kind of external hanging pocket thing is a Rick trademark.
Same kind of concept in a detachable fanny pack configuration here.
>>8476406
A flightsuit tied around the waist looks so fucking sick, too bad I'd feel like a military poser if I tried wearing it.
Is anyone else here too scared to really dress next level?
Like, I keep my fits just short of "try-hard".
You can tell I care about fashion, but it's not unreasonable to anyone. It looks good to a majority. And I'm stuck there
>>8477009
it's usually just out of place
you cant wear full christian carol poell with a day job as a best buy cashier or something, it just doesn't work. if you're like a freelance documentarian though.......u can wear that all day
know what i mean?
Something I'm wondering about: why are pocket zippers usually in a closed-at-top configuration? Wouldn't a closed-at-bottom one make more sense?
>>8477013
I mean, you can't wear CCP with a day job as a Best Buy cashier first and foremost because you don't make shit as a mass retail cashier. You also can't because you need to wear the polo and, I think, khaki slacks.
But Poell does khaki slacks. What are they going to say, "GTFO your seam is too twisted?"
I'm much more interested in more conventional stuff that looks like it's hints at the future. Most of this stuff feels very military inspired and I'd like to see what just regular stylish guys would be wearing in the near future, not spacemen. I'm not articulating this very well, but this Folk sweatshirt gives me good feelings of what I'm trying to say.
The panelling hints at a kind of sci-fi techy vibe but it's not so far removed that it even comes anywhere close to being a costume or futuristic guesswork. I guess I'm sort of thinking of futurenormcorm, as awful as that term sounds lol.
>>8477143
why would that make more sense?
>>8477148
I forgot to really say why I feel this way about the sweat. I think it's just the way they've taken a conventional feature like elbow patches and made them them angular and a bit robotic feeling. I don't know why angles and panels feel futuristic but they seem to.
I also love the New Balance Blue Tab collection. Again, it feels like a comfortable stable from the future to me.

Stick your hand on your chest like you're opening an imaginary Napoleon pocket with a standard zipper. Grab the pull and open the pocket. Stretch out your hand. Where is it?
Now, do the same thing, but imagine the zipper is in an open position at the top.
See the difference?
Additionally, you can clip or tie things (say gloves, or a penlight) to the metal loop for the zipper pull without the weight dragging the pocket open.
I'm working out details for a fleece I'm going to get a friend of mine to custom make for me, and this is actually one of the ones I'm most excited about.
>>8477148
+tons, I really don't get why people are so into militarism as an aesthetic. Pic related is the kind of aesthetic I'm working for; I made it ages back when someone made a "describe your aesthetic in two words" and of course I had to use hyphens.
Fits that will take you from home to a charged but chill nightclub and then out of the city to a small Brutalist cabin over a rocky coast to spend the rest of the weekend climbing.
>>8477159
Thanks a lot mate. It sounds pretty silly but when I saw that Folk sweat it triggered something in my brain and made me see a vision of how I wanted to dress, so I'd dig seeing lots of similar stuff.
>>8477189
Egh, woops. Tired. I was going to cite techier Undercover as the highest example of what I was talking about before I remembered the picture and forgot to change it.
I'll dump some inspo tomorrow night if the thread is still up.
>>8477194
And no, don't think that's silly! That's how people find and create their selves and styles.
I'll dump a little very random non-militaristic tech inspo now.
IIRC, this fit is Damir, Undercover, Cos, and Gyakusou.
>>8476856
it's not actually that useful because I feel really awkward using it in public lol. People aren't ready for this pocket tbh
>>8477204
this thread is raw, unrefined autism
>>8477207
How's it awkward, functionally or just socially?
The unconventionalness is part of what attracts me to it. The way it's something you'd never think of until you see the garment, the same feeling (to me) as coming across a new concept that changes the way you understand a part of the world.

I just mean I don't use the pocket because I don't want to attract so much attention every time I want to get my phone out. Itwould be the GOAT pcoet for hiding stuff because someone basically has to touch your dick to see if there's anything in there.

That's actually a good point. Consider the digicam garbage bags they put soldiers in now and private space exploration.
There might not be any military fashion that is worth incorporating into civilian fashion ever again...
Besides innovations in materials and so on.

>>8477247

>>8477286
I haven't been watching Julius for a minute. I'll check it out.
>>8477421
Can you explain the appeal of this to me? Seems like it'd be way too rigid.
>>8477428
>There might not be any military fashion that is worth incorporating into civilian fashion ever again...
Eh, it's not a question of what's worth incorporating or not. It's a question of where you're positioning yourself in society. "Which side are you on?"
Societies across the globe are being hijacked by security mandates and the logic of permanent emergency, the world's great cities are being turned into garrisons and/or sites of colonial occupation, the entire state and its claim to legitimate force is being cast in the framework of the military and war. (Like, easy example, think militarization of police.) Semi-recently, Jon Stewart seriously floated the idea of deploying veterans in some kind of paramilitary thing on a nationbuilding-style mission to Detroit, in an interview with Sebastian Junger, who concurred, and almost no one batted an eye. To use a very spurious old dichotomy, we're being turned from Athens to Sparta.
>>8477635
IMO, there's tons of well designed military gear, current and past, a lot of the current stuff better than a lot of the past stuff. But it takes a lot to sever it from that culture, militarism, the holding of martial values as relevant and/or superior to civil life. It can be done with the right piece, with the right other garments next to it, in the right context. But you have to be careful.
>>8477498
I think it should work. The most feminine element is the collar, which you can easily tweak with other garments.
>>8477532
I pay no attention to Asos or Topman so idk, but contrast raglan sleeves make a ton of sense.
Raglans for range of motion. Do the body in a knit for breathability and comfort. Do the sleeves in a more durable material to hold up to wear. And the raglan sleeves jive nicely with it, because they prevent pack wear.

The Deus Ex collection is pretty disappointing, they had so much they could have worked on, and it all came out so... plain. Too many graphic tees.
Some of their other collections have a few nice pieces though. I saved this one a while back, think it's from their EVE collection.
>>8478293
Acronym pants are fucking amazing, shame they are over $600 USD.
I ended up ordered a pair of Maharishi cargoes on sale, pic related, and they are pretty fantastic.
>>8478687
Damn, and those have the exact color I thought would go good with some flyknits I have. How do they fit?
>>8478710
I'm really new to fashion, so I'm not used to ordering clothing online at all. I ended up accidentally ordering one size too large. I thought about exchanging them, but the sale stock was gone in the right size.
I ended up taking them to a tailor and got the waist taken in, and the legs tapered. Now they fit fantastic, but unfortunately, I couldn't say how a properly sized pair would have fit.
The cotton has no stretch what so ever, and the tailor even remarked at how thick and heavy the material was. They repel water nicely, not as well as a pair of goretex rain pants I have, but still really nice. I fucking love how huge the pockets are without them looking bulky like shitty Old Navy cargoes.
They really do come scented like jasmine, almost too strongly at first, but two washes in, and it's a now a nice light scent.

The appeal to me is just the potential of 3D printing clothes. There is already 3D printed makeup where you can just print any color you can make with hex colors...
Imagining torrenting clothes is a very fun thought... I'm just a dreamer though. I don't really know how possible that could be.

>>8480993
3D printing could never match up to the quality of fabrics and construction of real designer pieces, in that sense you'd basically be printing off cheap imitations like the ones on chinese websites.

look like Knoch's handiwork.
>>8481107
I mean, think about how 3D printing works. How would you do that with fabric? Unless I'm missing something, you'd just be able to make jewelry, etc.
I think the most you could get at would be a robo-sewing machine you feed a bolt of fabric it cuts up, arranges, and sews together. But it'd have to be huge, and like the other guy said, it'd be hard to get it to stand up to human involved production techniques.
And, seriously, yeah, torrent patterns and everything, and just take them to a tailor.
>>8481127
Define "Lunarcore." Gritty space inspired stuff? Yeah. Lunarcore-as-a-thing? No. Does it matter? No, it was just poet working on his personal style and some other people jived with it, too. No one was trying to make fetch happen. Wear what you like and work on yours. If it's Lunarcore? Go for it.
