What's the best fabric for sports coats and slacks in a hot environment? It usually never drops below 100° in the evenings here but I don't want to wear basketball shorts and an oversized t-shirt like everyone else on campus.
Linen, but you're going to look like an asshole wearing that to class unless you're post grad or doing a presentation or something

Linen is good, but wrinkles too much for my taste. Linen blended with cotton solves that. My favorite summer fabric for jackets is worsted wool, though,

Do you want to fit in or do you want to be a weirdo everyone laughs at and makes fun of?
If you want to fit in but also indulge your /fa/ leanings you should try being comparatively /fa/.
NO sportcoats. The most "formal" you can do is a short-sleeved button-up shirt and chino shorts. That might even be pushing it.

I'll give you a possible exception to this. If you can assemble a crew that agree to dress like you do - you can wear your sportcoats. Depending on the attractiveness of your crew you'll either be a popular weirdo or a group that people kind of want to emulate.

I don't really care about fitting in, I have a gf and friends outside of school, there's no cliques or anything here people just go to class and go home. I just enjoy dressing very nice.
