I have awful taste in shoes, how do you change/improve your taste?

Not OP but most of my shoes are chukkas like centre there. Are they still fairly acceptable to wear? I really like the look and they tend to be really comfortable.

You gain taste by paying attention to what other people wear in real life and why they wear it, and combining that with your own lifestyle and personal values/preferences. Otherwise you're left with a bunch of crap that other losers on the internet told you to buy that you're not completely in love with, or shit that you don't even wear because the situation never comes up.

I don't know or interact with anyone with a similar lifestyle to me so it's all played by ear, and I don't like what guessing has gotten so far. I find it hard to buy shoes because I seriously have no idea if they look awful or not.
