I'm not a big regular on /fa/ but I've lurked now and then and it looks like you guise dislike black suits and like to go for gray or navy blue.
However, I need to buy a new suit for a wedding which I'll wear just for these sort of special, formal events and it seems to me that a black suit is more fit for such occasions.
What do? Also, young stalin site is down, so don't send me there.

If you're wearing it strictly occasionally for formal events, black is probably the most versatile and you can just swap out accessories to add a different colour detail for each event.

Black suits are perfect for formal occasions, but the problem is that they will always make you look overdressed in other contexts - it's generally not considered proper business attire, for example.
I think charcoal is probably your best bet. Navy is very good and versatile, but it's a big no for funerals, whereas charcoal is close enough.
