I am thinking of buying these Allen Edmonds Park Ave shoes.

Anyone have any opinions on these? I am looking for something professional I can wear with a suit, and something simple and not flashy.

These are $400. Are they worth the money? Do I have any better cheaper options?

I have them and they're great. Looks great with suits or bizcaz
>>
safe entry level bizcaz to biz formal shoe.
>>
What do you recommend for shoe care? If I leave shoe tree in them will it pull the threads out?

nah. Just don't wear them daily, but let them rest every other day, using the shoe trees to absorb moisture and keep the shape.

Check ebay first. You can get hundreds of dollars off these shoes and in new or barely used condition. They're one of the most popular brands of "good" shoes so they are always on ebay.

>let them rest with shoe trees for at least 2 days before wearing them again
>buy pic related Renovateur and Pommadier cream and apply them every 2-3 weeks
>shoes will last for 20 years

Seconding this. I bought Saphir Renomat, Dubbin Graise, Renovateur and two different shoe creams and have applied them to all of my shoes periodically. They all look fantastic with no signs of leather warping or cracks, I've applied my six -year old Grenson boots with them for the past few years and they look as good as they did when I bought them. Although it may seem like a costly investment initially, you are saving money in the long term from vastly prolonging the life of your shoes, especially if they're good benchmade shoes to begin with

Bang for bucks I would have a look on Meermin, Carmina or Septième Largeur

Also very curious about this. I'm too far to go to a store and try them on myself.

This, quality shoes with quality care products and periodic cleaning/shining and they'll last two to three decades (assuming you don't wear them everyday for years on end, having three to four shoes in rotation will increase their lifespan).
