I love Acne and APC but would normally try and cop on sale, unless there is a really nice statement piece you like. I would check out Nordstrom/Rack for mid range basics. Rag and bone has nice knits as well that are worth it on sale. I would check out Muji if you have one near you too. They have great basics, some with really interesting cuts for women

Don't buy stone island as a chick, i'm not really a fan of the look on girls. What about CDG? Rei makes beautiful pieces for women... I wouldn't go too heavy on APC/Acne but that's only because I find both lines to be a bit dull. Maybe just browse neiman IRL and handle a few garments see what you like what you don't like?

My reasoning is that honestly a lot of the brand's hype is built around annoying pop culture icons, Drake, etc... And the brand is really known for being a favorite of football hooligans in the UK. Imo the aesthetic is better served on people "about dat life"

Everlane is a good brand if you're willing to pay (I think it's worth it personally). Their clothes/shoes are elegant, great quality, and ethically made. I've had a pair of everlane flats for three years now and they look new every time I polish them

I would go to uniqlo and muji (but some anon warned me about quality) to buy some really basic things like shirts and tees, but I'm trying to build a quality wardrobe, that lasts in years, since I'm quite a minimalist. So I'm really willing to put the price in it for more quality and timeless pieces (thought about investing into a Burberry coat ie)

I'm fairly sure the anon you're responding to didn't mean CDG Play, but rather mainline pieces. Play are just basics with the logo plastered on, don't buy them, especially considering the price point.

I recommend you check out "Comme des Garçons", "Comme des Garçons Comme des Garçons" (not a meme, that's the name of the line) and "Tricot Comme des Garçons" as that line specializes in knits for women specifically. Try ebay, rakuten or yahoo auctions japan to find this kind of stuff for quite cheap. The quality is usually impeccable.

afaik they stock mainline stuff at the main Paris store but I've never been there personally. I know there is a "Pocket Store" in Paris and other cities where they usually stock Comme Des Garçons BLACK which is a cheaper unisex diffusion line.

I think it'd be a good idea to visit those stores to see the pieces in person - however, I'd only buy used cdg as it tends to get pricy otherwise
