i've been invited to a wedding in august.
i'm a bit of a shut-in and don't get out much, not really sure how to dress.
I don't want to wear a full suit, i think it would be too much, as i'm just an acquintence of the bride and groom, but don't know what i should wear instead. Looking for suggestions.
I'm a slightly portly chap, mid 20s, normie as fuck. I'm not looking for anything edgy.
please help a retard.

suit is fine. remember, always better to be overdressed than underdressed

I'd say it depends on your age and group. I'm 21, went to a early 30s relative's wedding in a full suit and was overdressed.

>always better to be overdressed than underdressed
it's not a job interview

the bride and groom are in their late 30s.
i'm thinking maybe a blazer/shirt/chinos combo? no tie. maybe a tweed type blazer and a blue shirt.

Is it being held this summer? Chinos and a sportscoat would be fine.

depends how formal it is. if it's outdoors you might want to just wear a sport coat and nice dress pants. definitely wear a tie, but something muted. don't out-dress the groom! it's his event, not yours. i suggest just going with a classic black suit and tie. you can wear a bowtie but i think they are fucking gay and makes you look like a caterer

this applies to all formal events
