White Mountaineering FW17 is looking comfy.
Emphasis on black, but almost all the pieces come in more than one color.
What are some good athleisure tech pants? I'm thinking gyakusou shell, ACG.07.kmtr shoes, patagonia atom sling, and an Arc'terynx neck gaiter
>>12626858
Any of the older season ACG pants, or just go full running-core with tights and shorts.
I have no idea how kmtr's will hold up as athletic shoes though.
>>12626821
damn everything juicy already sold out.
the dryskin sleeves would be rad with my waterproof shirt tho
>>12626932
Those look ridiculous
Nobody could find these boots in the last thread, let's try it again
>>12626871
what shoes would you suggest?
>>12626956
Gyakusou will usually drop one of the Nike running shoes in a colorway that goes with the latest season.
Trail runners are good all-purpose shoes, I've beaten mine to hell and back.
I don't think the kmtrs are bad, but they're below the line of function your fit is going for.
>>12626969
when does nike drop the gyakusou
>>12626984
Usually the end of October for the winter line.
Spring line this year is absolutely sold the fuck out.
I'll see if the spring line is going to restock or not.
Anyone got some recs for a barefoot/ minimalist shoe?
>>12626952
those boots are sick
>>12626952
Really like the fit except the pants.
>>12626821
This seems to be a restock of past season items. AW17 should drop around mid sep.
want to achieve both /out/core tech and athleisure urban tech please give me recommendations I'm new
>>12627385
Not surprising since those are the two cheapest entries into tech.
Step #1 is to read up on tuxbell on your fashion basics.
Step #2 is you can read the techwear guide.
Step #3 is to buy up basics. For you, Uniqlo, Adidas, Nike, The North Face, Patagonia, etc will all do. Stock up on T-shirts and pants. Find a pair of running shoes and then hiking boots.
Step #4 Research what kind of hardshell or softshell you're going to need for what you're doing. Be it running, hiking, etc.
And that'll be your entry into it from there. Aim for a more casual hiker look so you don't look too out of place at school, work, etc.
>>12627385
$48 black tapered pants from Asos
good techwear or no?
>>12627528
I like these, the dangling bit on the pocket is hideous but nothing's stopping you from removing it.
>>12627499
is there anywhere where I can find inspo for these?

>>12627622
I'm currently compiling a more diverse inspo gallery. But I'm still compiling as much as possible before making it.
>>12627622
As requested though, Inspo dump for the rest of the thread is going to be focused on this, and last threads, post about women tech.
Assume that I don't want to use the Discord; what's the next best place to talk about techwear?
>>12628339
>the discord unironically thinks this is a good fit
>>12628339
There's really never a good place and there doesn't need to be a place. It's just techwear, you'll have more fun and meaningful discussion if you join a group of people where that topic is secondary like urban exploring boards.
>>12628339
You've got sufu, reddit, and here.
Pick your poison.
>>12628416
it is. shit tier taste if you think otherwise
>>12628495
r/techwearclothing is slow and a cringe fest in how bad all the fits are and the general knowledge is basically a step up from r/streetwear
supertechwear on sufu is dead slow, has no fits but the cringe of how bad the posts are more than makes up for it. supertechwear is especially bad because unlike reddit and the discord where most people acknowledge they are still learning, the sufu retards actually think they look good and know what they are talking about (they don't)
>>12628416
Not a fan of joggers, they make any shoes look like clown shoes. If it was black and not trying to match I think it would be alright.
>>12628531
Those are Acronym P10's the best techwear pants you can buy. They are not joggers at all. baka

Sorry, they all look the same to me.
Really its anything with ankle taper I usually hate.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Acronym and Techwear in general makes you BALD!
Errolson Hugh, Acronym designer and infamous cuckold, is hellbent on making other males share his bald-headed fate by infusing his polyester rags with dangerous phyto-hormones and toxic chemicals that cause your hair to permanently fall out.
I will provide evidence of this in the following three posts. Three big influencers all who wore Acronym products, all who are bald or balding terribly. This is no joke everyone. Beware.
>>12628642
First up is reknowned scammer and beanie wearer (we now know why) Fernando Ruez. He started out as a hypebeast just like you or me, made it to Big 3 Instagrammer status, then was shamed out of the game as his hair fell out thanks to Errolson's trickery. He's since deleted his Instagram account and gone into hiding to live out the rest of his bald years in solitude.
>>12628645
Next we have jah_eel aka real_russian_spy from Reddit. The innovator behind StreeTech who changed the game when he through a Nemen x ACR shell on over his Supreme Bogo tee. Now sadly, his hairline in shambles, he drifts off into obscurity, dying and then rebleaching his hair over and over, trying to will the baldness away. Sadly, that's just making it worse.
>>12628650
And now for the latest of the "Big Three" influencers to fall victim to the Acronym baldness plague: Karl Nikolai. This swagapino won our hearts with his charming smile and elf-like physique. That look doesn't quite work with a side comb over to hide the heavily receding temples. It remains to be seen if he can hold on, but with another ACR drop just around the corner in 6 weeks, it is not looking good for our spritely young friend.
Don't buy Acronym, don't wear Acronym, don't even talk about Acronym. Not if you value your hairline.
This has been a public service announcement.

>>12628416
It's not bad. I think what's wrong here is that it's a bad photo, not flattering to the clothes and taken at a weird angle. Also everything is new and crisp, I think this fit looks better after a bit of wear, which helps give it some comfort and character.
>>12628416
what's wrong with this

You don't need the image, you can always ask you're questions here
>>12628523

>>12628926

They really only have their online shop and a few boutiques in Asia (Tokyo, HK, etc.), pretty garments that do well for weekend hiking. Not a high-performance outdoor brand but certainly not a waste of money.

>>12628416
not awful, just need some things replacing mainly the standard main thing being the stone Ireland jacket and the shoes
>>12626943
if you wear them like that. I think the intention is that it's part of your base layer, these would be perfect for winter time.

>Bagjack (which makes the acronym bags)
>Head Porter
>And Wander
etc, etc.

How the hell can I wear any of this stuff in the summer? Do I need to move somewhere cold to look good?
>>12632200
Since we're talking backpacks.
I use bicycle as the main way of transportation while living in a fairly shitty climate. I want to find a backpack that conforms to the following criteria:
1. Can be strapped securely to the torso so it doesn't bounce around
2. Has some sort of water-proof and/or repellent exterior
3. Can be bought in EU because fuck paying import tax.
From that pic I personally liked Chrome Barrage, but it looks like it doesn't have any sort of zipper or drawstring on top - only the belt fastening. And it's only shipped from the US.

>>12634158
For what it's worth, mission workshop came from chrome and if you decide to go with chrome, try and get one of the made in America bags instead of made in China, they've had a long running difference in quality
>>12634273
Well, ordering to EU from their website including tax would come out at 310 USD. So I'm looking for alternatives. I'm sure there is something nice that can be bought within EU.
>>12634481
You can get both chrome and mission workshop in the EU
>>12634495
I think he's saying his budget isn't that high maybe?
>>12634495
Yea, I've found two EU-based online stores that have them, and the price is either the same or even more expensive. Might as well order from the US store.
And yes, >>12634527 is correct. While I can afford this, I would prefer not to feed my money to 3rd party retailers, shipment company and government. And there might be pretty good options that are produced here and don't require such ridiculous charges.

It's a label that allows hypebeasts into techwear by giving them an easy pass requiring less functionality and more emphasis on brand names. Which is really what most of the techwear people are on reddit, sufu, and discord.
>>12638054
Maybe reddit and the discord. Sufu has always been at the forefront of techwear and still is. The level of communication and the depth of conversations that goes on there is second to none. If you're into techwear and not posting on supertechwear than you're probably just a poser or a wannabe.
>>12638085
>Because you're not in any social circle you don't care
You can be into techwear and not be part of any of those communities or anything in matter of fact.
>>12638093
If you're just some autist who isn't talking to the others leaders of the techwear movement over on sufu, then you're not really going to be doing anything special. No one cares if you DIY a bag or mix discount Adidas with Northface or whatever dude.
>>12638102
>>12638106
All I am saying is, if you are doing it alone, then you're not really part of the techwear scene. You're just some dude who likes technical clothes. Techwear is a social movement and if you want to be involved in techwear then you need to interact with others. That's just the basic concept of fashion.

Better than anything you could put together from your poor person closet. And if you haven't noticed, supertechwear is focused on discussion and not on waywt style fits. You poor 4chan boys can play that here or on Instagram. The real techwear crowd has more knowledge of ACR and other specialist brands in just one or two of its good members such as Inkinsurgent, JimBob or CARLOOA than all of 4chan put together. And they don't need to be validated by your childish fit photos. They already know they are ahead of the pack. So stay mad but you're never going to get it if you aren't already on Sufu for at least 2 years minimum.

>Buying reps
Just stop
>>12646530
Buying reps is sometthing you can get away with when it comes to Gosha or any other streetwear brand that is more logo than quality.
Buying a rep of a techwear brand will almost always end up looking bad because the whole point of techwear is the use of higher quality fabrics and construction in the clothing itself. Chinese merino wool for example will more often than not won't even be 50% merino.
>>12643480
only if it's made out of carbon fibre and other technical materials like kevlar padding and lining for your butt and legs
anything can be technical, but not everything can be functional. So ask yourself, do you really need an exoskeleton seat with you at all times?
So how much longer until Acronym stops being a meme and becomes affordable?
>>12647475
>affordable
There's that word again. when is it not affordable? assuming you have a job you should be able to buy from acronym.
Also if it was cheaper, everyone would be rocking acronym and making it uncool in the process, we don't want that do we now?
>>12647488
So you define how cool something is by the amount of people that use it?
That's some hipster logic right there.
Besides, Acronym is expensive. You can literally buy an old used car for the amount of money that they ask for their jackets.
It's basically expensive designer clothing that sometimes uses technical materials as a gimmick.
>>12647475
This looks really bad.
>>12647494
>So you define how cool something is by the amount of people that use it?
obviously. hipster logic or not, popular things tend to suck because it gets ruined by profit. there's only so much acronym gear made and so limited, they could decide to mass produce it and cut the price in half but it takes away from the brand and their success thus far.
also if you have to decide between a car or a fancy acronym jacket, maybe you should rethink your priorities and stop being a poorfag. buy columbia or north face if you want to be tech on a budget
Would a training/fitness mask be techwear?

are you a big guy?
>>12648311
uuuu
we inch closer to "cooler" techwear
>>12647911
I would say that there are definitely people who think that Acronym is good because of the exclusivity and cost, and that's the part of the business model. There is a correlation between the cost and quality that people perceive even if it's not necessarily there.
Personally, I would say that 90% of their clothes don't look good (my own opinion, taste is subjective), and going through the item description reveals that they skip the tech materials in some cases.
Sure, they could lower the costs if they wanted to, but it's not their business model. They create an impression of exclusivity by having high prices and having their own small production. Why bother with large scale operation when you can make a small company with dedicated clientele that will buy your stuff at triple of what it costs to produce?
>buy columbia or north face
I like how you mention these, when these are not cheap brands either. Poorfags can't afford these either.
Poor people don't bother with fashion and aesthetics, they just want to survive with the little they have.
tfw naturally warm person and in the winter I'd still prefer just a light sweater
feels bad
What's a good spring/autumn jacket that works when you're not wearing a fuckton of teachwear pieces?
>>12647488
everyone already rocks acroynm anyway
see : nike collabs
>>12648924
You're not naturally warmer, you have a higher tolerance of the cold.
That doesn't mean if you stand out in the cold for too long you'll get sick or frostbitten like everyone else will. (Me personally I live in a place where it can dip into the negatives with extreme windchill.)
Techwear is about dressing for your environment. So if all you need is a sweater. Just wear a sweater.. Doesn't mean it can't be a cool sweater though :^)
>>12648930
Plenty, most jackets that don't look extremely sporty or autist ninja will go with most other looks.
If you want some cool jackets that can straddle the line..
>White Mountaineering
>Visvim
>WTAPS
>Outdoors brands (TNF, Patagonia)
>etc
>>12648558
>Streetwear appropriating goretex and tech brands
We must double our efforts to the construction of Mech suits. Urban Mechwear is the future.
>>12648292
Those masks are a pseudo-science meme, look up the science (or lack thereof) of the science behind it and tell me you still want one.
>>12647475
There are other brands giving the same quality if not better for cheaper without the ninja look. Experiment and look around unless you really have your heart set on Hugh's vision.
Business idea: boots that that can be switch between being fully waterproof and being a water shedding jungle boot via some kind of adjustable drainage port
>>12626952
Again, I'm positive these are visvim
is this tech?
>>12649742
Eh, I don't rate it.
>>12649742
Why do those Techrunners look fake?
>>12650853
Just worn af
>>12650853
haha they are. not trying to fool anyone. just didnt want to pay a lot for some shoes for an aesthetic i'm not sure I want to commit to
Do you think plant textiles will eventually see more widespread use for their technical properties?
>ventile is water-resistant and more breathable than synthetics
>linen is amazing in hot weather
>hemp is supposedly stronger and more breathable than cotton
Etc.
>>12650833
>tfw no qt Michaela Sachenbacher gf
Is this style even viable in non-cold places?
>>12651619
Absolutely.
Dress for your environment. Techwear isn't limited to jackets, and even the jackets can range in technical materials from Schoeller Dryskin, Gore Windstopper, up to a Pro-shell.
>>12652043
Thanks. I'm still trying to get the concepts from the guide but I got a bit discouraged from seeing lots of jackets. I'll keep doing my research then.
Living in a place with temperatures of up to 100° is still a shit though.
>>12632216
The rush 24 is more than enough, especially as a go bag. It just depends on how efficiently you pack.
>>12652043
lol cargo shorts graphic tee and crappy nikes
is this how shit summer techwear is??
>>12627385
>3L goretex
>No breathability
Huh?
>>12654001
And what were you expecting?
Would it make a difference if I posted someone wearing an outlier Ramie t-shirt and linen pants?
It has to meet the aesthetic and the utility and both do.
I'll dump summer inspo (albeit summer is coming to an end) so you can nitpick them to death and bump the thread
>>12629453
>>12640778
These are fly, look minimal and all, but I was talking about barefoot shoes like vivobarefoot, but actually good looking.
>>12633001
Suicokes are the shit.
Like a techy birkenstock
>>12640705
Source?
>>12654691
I believe that's an Icebreaker lookbook pic if I recall
>>12655311
Cheers, Staos
>>12648670
yeah, if it wasn't for artificially low supply and high price it would only be another garbage bag coat manufacturer in a saturated market
their claim to the research that goes into designing pieces is dubious at best
At worst it's shitty marketing and you're paying thousands for rebranded nike tier materials with straps and ninja aesthetic sprinkled on top
Hey, if it sells well though it's a great idea.
Not that there's anything wrong with that if you're not actively pursuing quality

Any of you have experience with Descente Allterrain?
acronym collab when?
>>12648292
>>12626815
has anyone heard of a biking mask? I mean not only to cover the face in cold weather but to filter out possible particles/harmful gases from cars and buses year round.
Are superdomes tech? Looking to put them with a flecktarn parka and tapered rothco pants.
>>12658838
Smog masks have been around for a long time and are definitely viable if you live in a fucked up city like Beijing or LA. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but some are better than others.
>>12658267
It's a tech-focused diffusion line of the Japanese sportswear company Descente. Supposedly most of their stuff uses top of the line materials.
>>12659922
Those are neat, but maybe too sporty to work with milsurp.
>>12660071
What might you recommend as footwear instead. I was thinking about the superdomes because I've heard them described as a runner in boot form and would like to have that going for me.
>>12656778
Are you Asian? If not, don't attempt this.
