If you want recs, provide as many criteria as possible: including sex, price range, seasons/weather, occasions, other frags/notes/accords you like/dislike, special conditions i.e. can easily be found in mall department stores, other ephemera i.e. personal style/aura you want to project, etc...
>>
Looking for a good casual frag

>sex

>price range
nothing over 200$ for 100ml
>weather/seasons
sunny days, doesn't matter on season
>occasions
casual

doesn't matter if you can find it at a department store but its preferred

also I'm going to be wearing with black/white clothing so something that goes with that general look would be great

Your best choice for very hot summer days?

I am between Polo blue, Acqua di gio and Terre D'Hermes. Pretty normie tier I know but this are the only ones I tested.
>>
>>12579526
Looking for Fragrance recommendation

I lean towards woods most, with either spice, oriental or a niche (of leather, rhum, tobacco) as secondaries
I hate fruits, and citrus - fougeres are acceptable

I have Fan di Fendi by Fendi which suits me well and La Nuit de L'Homme by YSL that smells very sweet on me to switch it up

I was eyeing D&G's The One, Tom Ford's Oud Wood and Armani Code Ice

I was recommended (but have not tested yet) Nuit d'Issey Miyake, L'Homme Idéal Guerlain,

Anyone know what else I should try out?

>>
>>12579910
Yup quite a few, actually. It's awesome in the summer. Your point?
>>
>>12579910
This desu, that super heavy vetiver is all anyone around you will smell and people will hate you for it in high heat
>>
>>12579947
It's literally only because of the top notes. TDH is a fall/winter/cool spring scent. Why do you think they released the Eau Fraiche flanker? for summer.
>>

>>
>>12580056

>>
>>12580056
Not true. The Ed Hardy clone is probably synthetic and cheap whereas Arabs put more work into the fragrances they make because it's more culturally embedded. They make good shit (but it can be too strong at times)
>>
>>12580003
It's not. It's like if Axe made a MI scent. It's very not good. The difference in quality is incredibly apparent.
>>
>>12580101
I own about 20 bottles of Arabshit and I regret about 2/3 of the purchases. The only ones I recommend without reservation are the La Yuqawam series, particularly the original.
>>
>>12580140
>I own about 20 bottles of Arabshit and I regret about 2/3 of the purchases.

Probably because you don't know how to shop/
Not liking it =/= indicative of quality
>>
>>12580140
This desu, both of the top-praised arabshits I've gotten, CDNIM and Al Rehab Silver were mediocre to bad. CDNIM was decent but really harsh and the spices were lame, Al Rehab Silver is like the "ink" quality of Silver Mountain Water without any of the complexity.
>>
>>12579950
>super heavy vetiver
You're talking like it's a rooty/earthy Encre Noire vetiver, which isn't the case. You do know that there are different shades of vetiver and that it is one of the most popular warm weather notes? Summer is when I've gotten the most compliments from TdH.

>>12579961
>Why do you think they released the Eau Fraiche flanker? for summer.
So you're using the fact that they released a summer flanker as an argument that the original is unsuited for summer?
>what is CK One Summer, Cool Water Summer Dive Man, Acqua di Gio Blue Edition, L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Eau d'Éé, Chrome Summer, Kouros Fraîcheur...

TdH is one of the few true all weather scents, but personally I find it least suitable for winter and best in summer.
>>
>>12580009
I used to think like that, but stick around long enough and you'll realize that names/labels are meaningless and good/bad fragrances can be found from any house at any price point.

>>12579990
FWIW Unforgivable Multi Platinum is like a slightly sour version of MI, but it's discontinued and sells for insane prices now. According to Fragrantica, Unforgivable is supposed to smell like MI too, but I've never smelled it.

Is Burberry Weekend edt men anything worthwhile?

I found a tester for a nice price, but it seems like wasting money on an inferior product when I ought to spend more and get something that's actually worthwhile.
>>
>>12580322
Maybe you should try it out. If you enjoy it, then it's worthwhile. If you dislike it, then it's not.
>>
>>12580322
Also, beware of ebay and amazon. If you buy a tester from there, it's most likely a fake. Don't underestimate how cheap a fragrance they're willing to fake, I got a fake Montblanc Individuel off of there.
>>
>>12580330
>Also, beware of ebay and amazon. If you buy a tester from there, it's most likely a fake
So you are saying that over 50% of the testers sold on eBay and Amazon are fakes? Wow. Got a citation for that?
>>
Obviously there's nothing I can cite that says "70% OF TESTERS ON EBAY OR AMAZON ARE FAKE" or they probably wouldn't allow the sale of them, but I do know it's easy to trick idiots with a similar scent and even easier when you don't have to buy/manufacture the packaging and caps for the empty bottles you're getting. Really, I was just giving him the sound advice that "ebay/amazon aren't trustworthy, especially for testers", sorry if I worded it in a way that set off your autism

The fact is, in this case the savings amounts to less than $10, and at that point I'd rather pay a little more to get from a reputable source like fragrancenet. But, if I ever decide to get some aventus, I definitely will keep this advice in mind.

All I meant was in this case, the savings were so trivial ($10), I may as well buy from a reputable source. However, if i were instead looking to purchase a more expensive fragrance, (aventus is an example), the savings would hypothetically be more substantial than $10, and I would therefore be more tempted to purchase from the ebay seller. Either way, as I do not want to be taken advantage of, it is good to know these ebay sellers are often illegimate.

Sorry, I didn't sleep last night.

>>
>>12580560
no. the "persona" that a fragrance projects is mostly marketing, you'd just smell the way that it smells. if that were the case, then i would get many more strange looks from soleil blanc than i do (i don't get any). certain fragrances smell dated, but that's really only to enthusiasts, and cool water isn't really one of them.

Warm weather
for most occasions
sub $70, the cheaper the better

Tried a few frags today.
Un jardin Sur le nil = green mangoes, sour, short lived & weak. I didn't get anything besides the green mangoes.
declaration d'un soir = spicy rose, would have been better for the above criteria if it was a little softer on the spice and a little fresher. not for me
Sauvage & dh cologne = I prefer dior homme cologne. It smelled more uplifting and natural.

Eyeing the other two in the pic. I haven't tried them in years but from what I remember they didn't stand out.

Just tried aventus today. What I realized is alot of frag heads are delusional when it comes to scents that smell alike. I have cdni and I enjoyed it thoroughly and people made aventus seem tiers above it. Made it out to be some potion of some sort. So I was excited to try it, I was even contemplating on blind buying a bottle. Then I tried it at bloomingdales and it smelled 90% like cdni. I would say 100 but that would just be another bottle of aventus. Now I completely dropped buying aventus and am buying another nottle of cdni instead.

If you have a ton of samples where/how do you store them? I'm considering buying an ammo box similar to pic related and stick letters on the side and numbers at the bottom and organize them alphabeticaly and also on the top of the box will be the names of the samples + their coords.

So for example if aventus is top left, it will be A1 and it will be written on the top so I can find them easy. what bothers me is heat and humidity

The whole reason I buy samples is to decide whether or not I like something enough to buy a full bottle. Why would I not use a whole sample? It takes several wearings to decide if I like something enough to buy.

The fuck are you on about? You have a case of the brain 'tisms?

A lot of old fragrances have aldehydes in them which is the "old people" smell, and old people secrete aldehydes too.

Certain fragrances have many notes (like Chanel Allure Homme, and many women's fragrances) and still smell modern.

Suggestions for a complete fragrance newbie, on a poorfag student's budget? Should I just look at "most popular" picks on Fragnatica or something?

I'm a chick, and think that I'd just want something light and subtle. I'm not really sure what scents I'd be in to. I know I generally hate flowery scents (especially lavender and the like). That's very low budget for a fragrance. You might be able to get something like a Joop that's kind of fallen out of favor, or a cheap Nautica or something. There's some good frags in there, I especially like CK Night,it's subtle but also rich in a sense. But I'm pretty sure it reminds women of the last pump & dump they received when they went home with some douchebag at the club.

Anyone here a fan of Geo F. Trumper? I bought Eucris at the Dries van Noten store in Antwerp and I'm really liking it so far.

Hi /fa/, what's the general consensus on Le Labo frags?

I've been thinking of picking up Rose 31 for use as a signature scent, and for my upcoming graduation.

My second choice would be Labdanum 18, but as it smells similar to pi I'm not certain its worth the price tag.

Are there any other fragrances that would be better suited? Im a 22/M for refference.

To be honest, I feel like Le Labo's fragrances are too simple for what they charge. I mean, they're nice, high quality, but nothing seems particularly remarkable about them to me. I'd probably buy one or two if they were around 150.00 for 100mls, but in the price range they're in, I feel their are other houses that are much better.

Just my opinion, of course, I do like their scents, I just think they're quite overpriced for what they are.
>>
>>12607393
Rose 31 is the only one I've really liked or felt like I would buy. Like a lot of niche houses they're way overpriced for what they are.
>>
>>12607393
Like the above posters said, the frags are way too one-dimensional for the price tag. Bergamote 22, for example, only smells marginally better than other designer citruses that go for 1/4th the price. The inherent problem is that it's difficult to make one note smell that much better than its contemporaries unless you blend it together in a complex composition, which is what most niche frags do to justify their price.
>>
>>12607486
Yeah, that's exactly it. I feel like if you're charging 300.00+ a bottle, you need to be creating things that are different and unique. Like a Roja Dove, for example, many of his fragrances don't have a huge number of notes, but they smell completely unlike anything else. Even a lot of Creed and Amouage fragrances are very unique (though often imitated).

The Le Labo fragrances, on the other hand, there are tons of other fragrances that do the same thing. The Le Labo frags might be very good versions of them, but that isn't enough to justify 250.00 for a 50ml bottle, in my opinion.

Never gotten a sample from mugler circle. A year ago they sent me a mugler-branded pleather bracelet and a notebook. They both smelled like Angel, but no samples.
I guess we'll soon find out what this year's unpaid marketing intern has in store.

You could've gotten a bottle of Kurkdjian or Roja or something for that...

Goddamn, that makes me sad.

Also, how the fuck is Samplesperg able to afford this? I thought he made minimum wage?
>>
>>12608446
I do but I dont spend much on anything else and my employer gave me a rent free room for my job so it's all pocket money

Also I buy samples so I can find a good enough bottle to buy eventually
>>
>>12608508
You realize you can buy more than one bottle, right? You're not locked into buy the same one scent forever once you buy your first bottle, you know...
>>
>>12608508
I mean, that's damn near a grand Canadian. On samples. You realize you could go on vacation somewhere or something for that? Like, you make minimum wage, and the best way you can think of to blow 1000 dollars is to buy 100 tiny vials of scented alcohol?
>>
>>12608051
I dont get why people are so autisticaly triggered by someone buying a lot of samples. It's nice to have a lot of scents. Why wouldnt you buy a lot with your disposable income and only buy full bottles of the stuff you like? Are people triggered that someone can spend that much money?
>>
>>12608508
>literally spends all of his disposable income on samples

>>
>>12608799
people arent triggered by samples, theyre triggered by a particular faggot who has been here for 6 months and is a niche elitist with no bottles
>>
>>12608799
and to clarify my point i mean this rage spills over into everyone else
