Can someone explain the streetwear meme to me
A tracksuit, hoody and sneakers is not a good outfit to wear outside at home or something to
something to do with sport*

Viral marketing.
Supreme in particular rose to power by sloppily rebranding Hanes t-shirts and hoodies and charging triple the price while intentionally keeping quantities low to fabricate obscurity and exclusivity.

This is a step away from "people dress too casually nowadays." I agree with you to a certain extent because of my own biases but given how casually people dress now I don't think this meme is too far gone.
Seems cut from the same cloth as the "athleisure" trend desu
Just copped a memetee myself.

The hip new youth of the 21st century is characterized by the throwing off of the old world'a shackles. Like anyone, they are willing to overpay to show off their hot branding. However, unlike previous generations, enlightenment in their time is characterized by connecting with those outside of one's own social/monetary class. Young people find connection through street wear because outwardly one might not know whether it costs $10 or $200, but inwardly (with those in their own upper echelons) he can brag subtly or overtly that his clothing is extremely expensive.
In other words, it allows for great adaptability. Around poor people, its normal poor people stuff. Around rich people, one can still brag all the same as if it were an Hermes tie.
