the most important measurement is the shoulders; you can get it darted, but you can't alter the shoulders easily. to me that looks too big

The shoulders are a bit too wide and the waist could fit a big closer, but it looks like it fits in the chest. I'm willing to bet a smaller size is going to fit too tight in the chest, but I might be wrong. AE sucks, sure, but hearing that won't make you a better appraiser of what fits and what doesn't.

If the shirt has pleats in the back panel, pulling on it like that will give that impression. Woven shirts have pleats to allow for a bit more movement, since the fabric doesn't stretch much.
