You should probably just wear the suit and fit in. Prom is not the place to flex. I fully understand your desire to dress up in your best stuff for a fairly important event, but part of prom is following the rules, matching what your date wears, etc.

When's the formal occurring? If not too soon, you can check for a cheap vintage white blazer and some average black pleats. Shouldn't cost too much if you search something under "vintage"
But believe me, don't you wear any form of denim to a formal event of any sort. It's simply uncouth.
