No raw denim thread?
Pros/cons, stories/experience, etc
pic related; 21 months & so very comfy but recently acquired a hole so I'm in the market for a new pair to break in for a less informal occasions
Raw denim is a long gone fad. There's so many denim jeans on the market and stretch denim has become the norm for comfort and fit

>stretch denim
literally cancer
>>12316019
those are not raw denim you fucking faggot i can see the pre-distressing
>>12316026
Literally all jeans were sold unwashed (raw) until the 60s or 70s. Calling it a dad is just ignorant.

iv been wearing the same pair of raw denim for about 1.5 yrs now. i never wash them. i spray them with febreeze. i hang them outside. after a lot of hard work and dedication, i dont have much to show for it. the fades are very mediocre at best. to top it off, they were like $175. meanwhile, my friends wear better looking, better fitting jeans that they got at the mall for $50. to sum it up, is raw denim really worth it? my vote would be "no".

the problems with stretch denim are: 1. because of the fabric blend, they get fuzzy and "pill" after a few washes, 2. they tend to lose their drape over time, and hang off your body like pajamas, 3. they are typically not very durable. i would whole heartedly reccomend against stretch jeans

What do you mean by pill?

now this post makes me think

This is almost how I'm starting to feel. I've had a pair of N&F weird guys for about 14 months now. They have some -ok- fades, a little bit of whiskering and a decent wallet fade. But kind of underwhelming for over a year of wear and one wash. I will say I like the selvedge, and the denim is super comfy once you wear it in. But at this point I'm just as inclined to wear a pair of ten dollar Rustlers or some other cheap pair. Just as comfy and the rise is better.

Absolutely disgusting.
My Railcars are going on 2.5 years. I've had to repair them a few times. It's great having a pair of jeans that are completely unique and continue to develop more character as they age. Pre-distressed jeans look like garbage.

like a cicada emerging of its shell the remains are discarded
follow this example
nothing is precious.clothes are meant to be grown out of.

To an extent. I'm going to try and go for a few more months before I wash them again. Maybe they'll have a better contrast then.
>>12317040
How many washes?
>>12317052
6, 7? I haven't really kept track.
>>12317046
I'm still the same size, fool.
>>12317040
I have a pair of Railcars just a little older than that almost all repairs at this point. I don't exaggerate that much either.

I just snapped this. Not great photo but gives an idea.

Nice. Did you do all the repairs yourself? I had the crotch in mine repaired by Indigo Proof, but I've done all my other repairs by hand.
Here's another pair. Naked & Famous skinny guys in natural indigo after about 4 years. These were my first attempt at mending, so they came out looking sort of goofy.

Some I did, some is professional, some is by family. It's hodgepodge and would require a set of photos in much better lighting to show. There are a number of places need repair around the ankles right now. To list: crotch reinforcement, knee replacements, frontal thigh reinforcements, belt loop replacements, both rear pockets repaired/reinforced, left thigh seam reinforced. I should have interior completely lined and buttonholes fixed up too.
