Maybe if your point of reference is the brutally ahistorical TV series Vikings.
You dress like the real vikings, or rather norsemen did and you'll end up looking like some kinda bohemian. Baggy trousers and colourful tunics were king.

Vikings often wore puttees (leg wrappings), though. They don't look awfully strange, as they were worn more recently by WWI and WWII soldiers, and it is a paramilitary look that is sometimes worn fashionably now. They were variously worn since ancient Roman times, at least.
