What to do when your cologne is to strong?

It's in a spray bottle. I always have to get the right distance and press only lightly (half spray) to get it just right. Super hard.

I dont wanna waste it by spraying into the air and walking through it desu. cause it's pretty expensive. Is there a more effcient way?

Is it possible to buy some odorless lotion and mix it ...?
