It's definitely 6'5, anything below that and you will look like a clown.

6'0" here. I look fine in longer coats.

I'm 5'7 and I just don't go past knees. The way a overcoat fits is more important. I have a nice long overcoat that goes to just about knees, but it's very slim fitting and looks good.

me again. Another thing I noticed, is to wear overcoats open. When you zip it up it can awkwardly give you a longative torso , making you look short.

I'm 5'2 and honestly just don't wear anything that goes past the knee

I have this GIGANTIC coat that's reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally long even on tall people, but as long as it doesn't go past the knee it looks fresh as hell!

I would change your shoes to something more neutral that doesn't stand out. Giving focus to shoes shorten you as a whole. Get some black boots which also has the benefit of giving you 2 inches.

And yeah I paint. No big deal. I think conventional painting rules are... stodgy. Archaic.
