I work as a forest ranger, and I live outside a city, so I spend almost all of my time on anything but concrete. Still, for those times when I do need to take a trip into the city, I wouldn't say they're that bad. Sure, I guess you could find more comfortable boots to wear on sidewalks, but then again you could just go barefoot and wear those kevlar socks that protect your feet from damage if you're looking for maximum comfy. But as far as durability and practicality goes, these boots win hands down over anything I've ever worn.

I don't understand why people would thrift sneakers. The best part about sneakers is that they'll mold to your feet - why would you want to buy someone else's broken in funk?

Alright, I have two pairs of shoes. Some beat up grey sperrys that make me look like an Uber Normie, and then some 3 year old utterly destroyed black and tan gazelles. I have used the gazelles for putting up drywall, jackhammering, running wheelbarrows of mud in the rain, working in and cleaning up a kitchen. For a big restaurant, and plenty of other dirty shit. My beaters. They don't look too bad because I take somewhat good care of them but I've had them for almost 2 years now. I wear them like 3-4 times a week because once you tie them they're literally just slip ons and I'm a lazy fuck.

It's the only boost shoe I own, and to be honest I don't get the hype around boost and how comfortable it is. To me the most comfortable part of the shoe is the primeknit.

Soft Star Portlanders. This leather is indestructible. On the downside, it doesn't develop any patina at all. I've worn these heavily for over a year, and the leather looks practically brand new. The suede is getting pretty beat up, though.

So, the suede mud guard on my beaters are coming off a little. Do I use glue to fix it? What kind of glue? Don't wanna do unnecessary damage to the leather by using the wrong glue.

The left one was from skating and it tore almost immediately since its my front foot. I don't know what I expected. The right one just started creasing bad and eventually got worse and worse. I've had them for multiple years so I'm sure that helped. Just make a small incision on a creased part and let it rip on its own.
