Get a Harrington, you're a late adopter for bombers at this stage. The RL ones are pretty decent.
Personally I wouldn't get a Harrington in black, but that's purely my own preference.

what colour would you recommend, just to switch things up? My logic behind the black was to go well with blue jeans (no navy jacket on blue jeans). Currently I mainly wear this basic navy one

I have a Fred Perry one in stone personally, feel like it's not too dissimilar from the classic styles. Otherwise I really like them in blue and red, but as you've said you don't want blue. Not sure how others would go with your blue jeans in mind.
