Altough my story is a lil bit different.
I have a bald dad, and even as a little kid I always was worried about getting bald someday. I always had messy hair and tried to cover my forehead (of course I had a totally natural hairline, it was me just insecure about even showing it)
Then I was 18-19 and my hairline started to recede. those were the most unconfortable years of my life, even though it was only noticeable by me. Then my gf had cancer and my hairline started to recede turbofast. I remember how stupid I felt when she shaved her head like a boss and I think about how stupid male baldness is compared with something like that (luckily she is ok now)
the thing is I totally changed my mind. I said, fuck it, i´m gonna get bald in a couple years, so let´s have fun with my hair for the last time.
I combed my hair slick back perhaps for the first time in my life, then I went with a manbun, then long hair...all of this while my hairline was receeding really fast. but for the first time I didn´t care. I was very confident about it, and the different between hinding it and accepting it was awesome.
next week or so the "fun" is over, and I´m gonna shave my head and pull the bald look for the rest of my days. I´m still scared a bit and don´t really know what to expect, but I´m gonna do it with her by my side.
