good feel desu, at uni I won't eat out of boredom. I also personally feel embarrassed when people see me eating shitty food so when I'm out and about I generally stick to water and cracker or whatever.

Besides fasting, what do you all do? I'm thinking of lifting some small dumbells daily (like 9kg) and maybe doing some bodyweight excercises (elevated push-ups, plank etc.)

I work at am office that supplies food which is both helpful and part of the reason my thighs ended up this chunky to begin with.
But I usually go with a few baby carrots for breakfast, aim for the veggies and a bit of protein for lunch (out of whatever they decide to give us), and then a light snack sometime around dinner. I think the biggest helper was just eating less. Drinking lots of water with my meals and eating slower helped when I started and now I just don't get as hungry as before.
Resisting snacks is hard but tea helps a ton with that.
It's also an office so no, I usually move around very little. I've started doing 20min exercises in the morning and taking a short walk in the afternoons just to increase my activity somewhat but I can't imagine it's helping all that much.

I fasted through yesterday as well! A lot easier to skip food when I'm not constantly surrounded by it at home. It wasn't super long but feeling pretty good about it regardless.

That is hardly an exageration. You need to go lower. I recommend 1300 calories which is 3 300 calorie meals and 3 150 calorie snacks, spaced 3 hours apart.

I've recently returned from Christmas holidays and ever since I've been consuming only 700 kal a day, compared to overating at about 1500 during christmas.

My bottom teeth started hurting yesterday and I googled it and someone said its because of raised acidic levels caused by my body being in a form of ketosis.

Black coffee in the morning is a good start, though it may just cause you to binge later in the day. You really just need to teach yourself to not eat unless you are actually hungry.

Also plan your meals the night before, especially if you are trying to lose weight. Myfitnesspal is good for this but just double check the nutrition labels of what you eat to make sure its right and set your own caloric goal, don't use the one they calculate.

After long enough you can also get into macro distribution/nutrients which myfitnesspal is especially good for. Additionally once you get disciplined enough to monitor these nutrients you will be less inclined to overeat given the amount of planning you put in. At this point calories aren't really a concern its more limiting the amount of fat/carbs.

Also visit /fit/ don't lurk too long but they are helpful in their general threads if you have questions pertaining to calorie intake and proper macro ratios as they relate to fitness goals. In addition they can help with workout routines that help you lose weight in a healthy/sustainable manner as so that you dont gain it all back within three years like many people do. The key to losing weight really is to do it in such a way you can comfortably continue indefinitely. As you get results that will also become a motivating factor.

Part of my ritual now is to plan the next day out every night, it has also helped me with food shopping more efficiently too.

Also start slow, if you immediately try to cut down to 1200 you'll become discouraged and lose site. Start slow this process will take about half a year to really establish itself (idk start at 2300 cal, and work your way to a healthy deficit, and then be sure to increase when you hit your goal (have a goal) to maintenance. Also read the /fit/ sticky.

Hello thinspo I have a few questions.

I'm currently technically overweight but I'm 6'3" and have a pretty wide frame so I'm not like round fatty or anything, just no definition and a lil porky in areas. Used to be a lot slimmer and looking to get slimmer than I was with some nice definition but I have some questions.

I am currently on a <1000 calories a day diet (have been since new years day) and I have almost completely cut bread out of my diet (had a sandwich today because I hadn't eaten that day and I was in a hospital and there was no hardly any choice, only 300ish calories though. I've been drinking roughly 3 litres of water a day and eating much more healthily. Much less carbs and a lot more veg. My typical day looks something like small porridge for breakfast, couscous with vegetables and maybe some fish for lunch and a stir fry with brown rice for evening meal (or no meal at all if I'm not hungry).

I have also been exercising daily using some app that changes the exercises you do daily as well as for the past few days cracking out the dumbbells and doing some arm exercises. I plan to start playing tennis again twice a week which I always found to be good exercise.

Is this positive, is their anything else I should be doing to get slimmer and more defined. I've lost about 4-5kg so far from my heaviest point (the day before new years) but the past 2 days I haven't seemed to have lost much weight. Should I carry on as I am or should I change something. I don't think I could reduce my calorie intake below 700. Thanks for any replies.

yeah, give or take, depending on your goals, how much you exercise, body composition, etc. i use fasting as a tool to be able to do and eat what i want. if i'm going out on the weekend, instead of doing fast/feed/fast/feed, i will fast two days straight before the weekend and then not worry one bit about how much i have to eat or drink when i'm out. sunday comes around, i start my fast again, and by monday my weight is back to where it was during the week, or lower.

there are very small quantities of micronutrients present in tap water, but not nearly enough. honestly just get some salt, other electrolytes aren't needed in the same quantities that you need sodium. if you have some ramen, put the flavoring packet in some water and drink it, that'll do just fine.

One issue I have is I often have to eat out for lunch and/or dinner, for work reasons, so it can be hard to count some of that. Lunch is pretty easy because I can generally find a chicken breast and veggies anywhere, but dinner is sometimes a crapshoot. For example 8oz of snapper is like 280 calories, but if they make it in a butter sauce that can easily double that. I try to be good about ordering food the right way, but, since I don't see how they prepare it it's always a question.

I smoked for bout the same time and quit bout 6 months ago and still wish I could. Bout the same amount too (3-4 a week) but it was kinda cradling my depression in a weird way- it's a stimulant after all. I had to quit to take a medication that I need so I stopped through a month of constant running and sucking on blow pops. Then took up drawing as a hobby to kinda take my mind off it.

Point is: it really kinda depends on who you are and what smoking was for you. Some quit easily, others end up somewhat reinventing themselves. In the end, though, I don't recommend it

Well, first off, I wouldn't be sure about that. Milk might still be liquid calories, but it doesn't have nearly as much sugar as soda does, nor carbonation. That's not to say that carbonation has any nutritional effect: just that when I was a kid I was never used to the bubbles so even when I was offered soda at parties or things I would usually only have a small glass at most because I only ever sipped it.

I don't know about "better" or "worse," but as far as I can tell fat is at least an essential nutrient, while we could probably get by just fine without the extra sugar they add to soda.

Both of these sound pretty extreme to me, honestly. I managed to lose at least 20 lbs in the last couple months by cutting only about 300 calories from my TDEE, so cutting to 600 or even 1200 seems a bit excessive. Running and cardio can be fun to get into on your own as a casual physical activity, which will help keep you thin, but don't expect it to help you lose weight faster: if you want to lose weight, focus on your diet.

Well, I'm not a doctor or anything, but yeah that sounds like a really sharp cut. The problem with those is if you rebound it'll really suck, so as far as I can tell it sounds like cutting just a little bit from your TDEE and gradually losing a ton of weight is a lot more sustainable.

No, it's not, just oversimplified. I messed around with it from the age of 13 on, and it took a while to "really" get addicted. You kind of slide into it, and it is genuinely not fun. I was able to quit, and not smoking is much better.

I've had a frustrating couple days and kinda binged a bit. I have a hard time eating anything that's not low-calorie, though, even if I stuff my face with it. So I just kinda ate 1k calories in veggies and popcorn. Luckily, the bad is over and I'll be able to work on this a bit more. Never gained anything, but it's annoying knowing it will take me a bit to get back into the proper swing of IF

I find eating cocoa powder has helped with my depression comparable to what zoloft does, so if you don't have access to pharmaceuticals, pick up some cocoa powder and eat 2-4 tablespoons a day. I like to prepare mine with 2 tbsp of cocoa powder per 1 tsp of brown sugar with a little bit of hot water, because I eat it when I make my tea, the thicker it is the better otherwise you'll have to add more sugar because it gets thin and bitter. It tastes just like dark chocolate when its thick and I get a palpable mood boost from it that again, i would compare to the zoloft I also take. I'm thinking about exploring replacing my zoloft with cocoa powder but I'd have to up the dosage to 6+ TBSP.
