BBS are mostly dead and homogenization of the internet means potentially good posters get drawn to and corrupted by the sea of low quality posts in places like reddit or instagram. I loathe reddit for this reason.

It seems that way. A large part of the people who were into fashion fell off. Also, with the current trends of hypebeats/fuccboi types, you don't really need a forum for advice. It's simple to "be into fashion" now because all you have to do is shop at your local Zara and H&M.

There are also a small group of people (which I believe I fall into) who found their place within fashion and no longer rely on the opinions of others to form our style. Most of what /fa/ used to be, even in its "prime" was people giving their opinions to eachother. This wasn't necessarily bad because there was also a lot of people that actively posted at the time.

To sum it up, these boards died because the dedicated fashion-heads no longer enjoyed/needed these boards and the basic "Im into fashion" types just shitpost now or don't visit at all.

I definitely think this is a big part of it. During show season I like discussing the collections on here, but besides from the odd inspo thread – which really are just the same images over and over again, far worse than fashion magazines or books – /fa/ doesn't really offer anything of value

Like others have said time and time again, and even right in this thread; You're SUPPOSED to eventually grow out of taking the advice of /fa/ and other people. I'm optimistic in saying a lot of us did and some just stay to shit post or to find nice pics to save. Less hopeful, is the thought that newfags coming into the site don't give a shit about this board and older users also don't give a shit about this board. So we're stuck wasting away with what we have.

Yes.

We have been stuck in an <i>Eternal September</i> for quite some time now. I don't think this was avoidable actually, given the nature of 4chan and its current state. The numerous attempts to salvage what was left of the board were commendable, albeit rather naïve. There hasn't been a way to achieve lasting change here in a long time.

I do miss some of our old posters.

It's 2017 soon.

I came here to learn about fashion and get an understanding about my interests and eventually develop my style. I only starter browsing here last year and even so I can agree it's gotten shutter over time. The amount of help and advice people have to me when I first started browsing was helpful, I remember an anon going out of their way to list me several brands and manufacturer for bags as I was in need with one but slowly everything became repetitive posts, the same old menial inspo images, off topic shit and I'm guessing this isn't new but I feel like it's more frequent now.

I'd just love to be able to find my style and figure out what suits me, having no friends or acquaintancesomething into fashion gives me only /fa/ to socialise in that case, but since its pretty dead it seems near impossible for me to achieve that here now.

Apologies for the blog post but it's fun here sometimes but it's definitely shit.

People either got too old to wear and discuss fancy flamboyant clothes or learnt all they needed (their style, proportions etc.). Now it's just teenagers with lited knowledge or funds. For that reason no interesting fits cause everyone's poor and interesting discussions because nobody possesses any knowledge.
