You need to try one on and wear it for a few hours. On top of being extremely comfortable, the insole and inner lining is ALL leather, my foot never ever gets sweaty. The sole is rock hard and lasts for a really long time (I have had mine for like 2 years now and they arent worn down yet). The paint is done individually by hired people in their "studio". The leather uppers are really high quality.

Definitely not worth spending like 300-500, but you can find them on sale for about 250 during sale seasons, so I'd say that's worth it. Try on a pair of these and then try on a pair of Vans and you'll see instantly whats going on.
