Hell I have a friend who spends $50-70 on plain white shirts from the mall and shitty online boutiques and $3 white Hanes tees look and fit better.

Material-wise and construction-wise I recommend them, but their fit is totally boxy, and therefore shitty. They're sold in packages of six, and I would suggest that you buy a single six-pack and see if they work for you. The neck fits very, very tightly and well on them, which I personally like but which others might hate. I say give them a try bro, it's the only way you'll know for certain. They definitely ain't translucent though, I guarantee you that.
