Actual distressed denim looks awesome. The problem with intention rips is that they're always massive and in ridiculous spots.

The reason distressed denim looks good is because it gives jeans a unique character. Wearing badly pre-distressed jeans kind of defeats that purpose, especially if you see another person wearing the exact same pants with the exact same rip pattern.
