What's the "right way" to wear dress pants casually. I'm talking sneakers and a tshirt or hoodie/jacket. Do they have to be a certain material or cut?
Also anyone got inspo of dress pants being worn casually
just wear black skinny/slim jeans or chinos
Right way is semi-formal shoes (think CPs) though sneekrs can work as well. Tuck in your t shirt. Don't wear a hoodie, sweaters are great. Big woolly sweaters can work very well and give a relaxed and comfy fit

You can't beat the comfort of dress pants though

Can stans work? What about say some sk8-his...(yes high school shoes I know)

Why no hoodie?

I take it back, it might work with a plain hoodie without a zipper, I just feel a hoodie can quickly be too informal for dresspants.

Stans will definitely work very well. Sk8-his might be too clunky, but it maybe it can work. Chucks might work better if you want high top shoes.
Might as well post it in here in case anybody wants to answer. Since I bought a pretty expensive wool suit last year that I almost never have an opportunity to use; what's the "right way" to wear the suit jacket casually?

Allow it to ride a bit higher than usual. Wear long dark colored socks with whatever sneaker you choose to use. Tucking in is appreciated, but not required.

So nobody has got inspo?
There is no right way. Jeans always look better.
work pants like dickies are better for casual fits imo.
in saying that >>11952195 looks rad
I think you're confusing dress pants with casual pants that aren't jeans
I'm not surprised given the demographic of this board
dress pants are for suits and fancy dress
I think you're just talking about a good pair of trousers
I think wool is the best material because it has a natural texture that can keep an outfit from looking too formal.
The length of the trousers and the pleating/creases are other factors in how dressy pants are. Pleated is generally seen as either dressy or outdated, though plenty of fashion forward brands have interesting cuts that make use of pleats to great effect and keep the look more casual. Cropped pants or pants that are tailored to end just above the shoes are more casual, whereas pants that break just over the shoe give a more formal vibe when worn with dress shoes or a sloppy vibe when worn with casual shoes.
