Well, honestly, I'm just naturally very, very thin regardless of what I eat, so maybe it's not entirely fair for me to say that avocados don't cause any weight gain. But for me, personally, they definitely don't, and I know because I eat them frequently. Fruits and vegetables just make me feel energetic and healthy and makes my complexion glow, just like lot's of water does.

Been hearing about this new thing called the balloon where they just stick a thick silicone ball in your stomach and fill it with saline so it takes up space and you eat less. Seemed interesting but also you have to wonder about long term, it doesn't seem like it would do much by way of helping your stomach shrink down.

Which is a type of extremely high-fat diet that's been found to have medical benefits for epileptics, and also apparently for certain diabetics. Interesting. When I was a fattie in high school I went on the Atkins diet. It was really popular then. My dad got really into it and had these strips he'd pee on to see if he was in ketosis.

I do find almonds hold me over better than, say, pretzels. Also some days I'm hungier than others even though I had a similar amount of calories the day before, so I've always suspected some foods work better than others.

I'm a little hesitant to eat too much high fat, because the calories add up.

I think the truth is, one can eat almost any amount of healthy food they feel like and not gain weight. It's worthless calories from junk food that leads to weight gain. You never see overweight vegetarians. Same thing with people eating a traditional Mediterranean diet - they're thin but they eat a lot of good food.

But I mean, we probably each have our own individual biochemistry, and the same food might affect different constitutions in different ways.

Almonds do that to me, too; that's a good example.

A Mediterranean diet has numerous health benefits but it's not the "healthiness" of the food that prevents massive weight gain, it's the moderation and time spent eating the meal. People in that region of the world will sit down for like an hour and a half with friends and family
They don't buy a big burger and shove it down in a matter of minutes so they can feel stuffed.

I keep having lunches and dinners for work where I end up fucking up. I just order the wrong thing and it's loaded with sauce or whatever. Tonight I got seabass and thought it was going to be cool but ended up being loaded with sauce. Other night the dinner was at an Italian place and it was just impossible to eat anything there without getting killed with calories. The alternative is just to eat really small amounts at such places, but I just haven't been able to master that.

You got in the range for what is considered a low carb and high protein diet according to most articles though, so good job. For keto diets, I think you have to only get 20-80g of carbs a day which I cannot even imagine, but if you're just doing generic low carb, I think you are doing fine. Yeah, I usually hit around 1500 calories with that. The bowl of oatmeal is ~120 and the omelette is around 200. I only use two large eggs, a small amount of cheese, a bit of fresh mushrooms, and a bit of fresh spinach. I try to get away with the least amount of the "zero calorie" nonstick spray which does have calories but less than 10 for sure.

4chan struggles with gray areas - everything is black and white in arguments. I agree that hamplanets will find any arguement they can for why they are fat, rather than that they are just eating too much. However, that does not mean that there isn't evidence that BMRs vary and that we should just selectively ignore that because it doesn't fit our narrative that fatties just need to put the fork down. Yes, they need to stop eating so much, but it can also be true that once they lose that weight they'll need to eat a bit less because they damaged their bodies.

It's sort of like a drug addict really. I used to use drugs and now it's really hard for me to feel happy. I've damaged my bodies response to dopamine. As a former fatty, I've also likely done some damage to my metabolism. It's hardly an excuse to use drugs or to become fat again, it's just fact.

I weigh 105lbs right now eating 1500-1700 calories a day. If I do just 1500 kcal, I can maintain 102lbs. Not thinspo but not fat. Of course I can feel full with one 1000 calorie meal, but I run out of energy if I do that. I've been eating eggs on the weekend (not until noon because IMF but I still like my comfy breakfast) and that does seem to keep me fuller longer.

I always debate having a latte or if I just have black coffee also. The latte is like 110 calories by the time I make it, but, curious if the milk calories are worth it for the fullness.

Need to do some experimenting. Any thoughts?

Recently I'm obsessed with looking at the keto diet tags on IG to kill my appetite. Why do fatties eat shit like mcdonalds with no bun and cheese covered slop when they could just eat some fruits and vegetables..?
