How to style really thin/fine hair?

I tried by myself first time, hair just turned out blonde-yellowish (despite my hair colour is a very light brown, almost blondish), they were not that bad but obviously that wasn't the look I was going for, so the day after I went to a salon and had them bleach them again.
Guy who did that said my hair didn't give up their colour easily, and that's one of the reasons I think people should have a professional bleach them, everybody have different hair that react differently to that process

If you use specific coloured shampoos you'll manage to keep the brassy tones out. I'm using a purple one and it's okay. Also remember that no matter what you'll end up with ruined hair, so you'll have to condition them and all that shit

I did. It was fucking sick but I got a LOT of weird looks. It didn't help that it was a few inches longer than that guy's so I looked like a weird tumblr chick (I'm a guy).

It did fuck up my scalp though. If you're on no poo or anything you'll have to drop it and use actual product because if you want to get it snow white you'll need to bleach the fuck out of it and your hair is going to be drastically different/damaged than before.
