hey /fa/,
i've to wear dress shirts at my new workplace, however i only have two, that have decent fits.
Is there possibly a way to get not-shit tier dress shirts without going bankrupt ?
If you're British Sainsbury's is where I've got a lot of my work shirts for cheap and they're pretty nice quality
honestly I like brooks brothers' no-iron shirts; they're comfy, drape well, and pretty cheap
definitely avoid OCBDs going forward
i prefer Seidensticker Shirts, you can get them for around 30€ (if you live in central europe)

Charles Tyrwhitt is where it's at.
i lie in eastern-europe (lol), so none of those really say much. however i don't want to shop in new yorkers

This. Be aware that their fits are fairly traditional, cop extra slim (or how do they call it) if you're going for even remotely modern look.
Tm Lewin is also reasonable quality for decent price.

Can attest to CT. Pretty good and they're usually on sale.
One thing to be careful about - their arm sizing is a little short (at least for me). Looking back I would have ordered a sleeve length an extra 1/2" longer.
Their white slim fit shirts fit me a little weird... Very tight in the chest and pools around my stomach. This is only with their white shirts. I have a plaid and it fits fine.
Anyone look into custom dress shirts? And how much they cost?
I got wide shoulders, so for a shirt to fit my shoulders/chest, theres a bunch of extra fabric around my stomach. That makes it a sloppy fit.
I'm thinking I may need to go custom.

I get mine from Joseph A. Bank to make sure the arm length and neck are right (I have a 17 inch neck so yeah). Then I immediately take it to a tailor to cut out the waist since they're all made for fat 50 year old bellies. For reference I have a 31 inch waist.

made to measure starts at like $80 and will beat any RTW shirt due to perfect fit:

Yes. Brooks Brothers has periodic sales on their shirts, which are extremely high quality. The sales usually kick them down to about $60, and for a two-ply all-cotton dress shirt that lasts a few years, that's a steal. They've also (FINALLY) gotten better slim fits in, though obviously you'll want to tailor them regardless.
Charles Tyrwhitt is also good, though their armholes are too small for my taste. Manlet brits.

Custom dress shirts can be a dangerous path to tread. There are a lot of people online offering them (e.g. Modern Tailor, Indochino, etc.), and all I've ordered have been utter shit. Custom is good only if you're really willing to pay the cash to have a GOOD custom shirt - that is, something $100+ per shirt. Don't go cheap.

>- that is, something $100+ per shirt
That seems fair. Seeing as how Brooks bros, and other big stores sells dress shirts for $100+.
Where is a good spot to go for [quality] custom dress shirts?
