This is all really my opinion plus some exaggeration. Really getting into Rick is more like joining a cult. Just like a religion its loved and hated. But often people find something they can resonate with either with his clothes or with Rick himself. Theres something very admirable to see someone like Rick, who is a complete outsider (an american from some place in california) become successful in Paris among huge fashion houses like LV, Gucci, and Chanel. Rick Owens clothes have a very rebellious nature to them but without the angst and immaturity. If you listen to his interviews he's very positive, grounded, and articulate in what he's after. I won't justify the price by saying the quality of his clothes make up for it but money (I'm paraphrasing here) allows him to enjoy his life and make his vision a reality. This is all just my opinion and why I like Rick Owens.

I need some advice guys. I've been trying to find some Ramone boots for a long time now, and I feel like I fucked up ever since Ssense had them for $400 and then sold out in my size. Should I just go for some fairly new condition waxed canvas ones (which look fairly decent, nothing like the gross marshmallow ones) for around $200 or get some rather shitty condition mainline leather ones for $400? My main concern is the toebox, which looks creased to shit. I'm not even sure how you could do that (see the pics). I really don't mind having the waxed canvas ones, should I just go for it?

Thanks! And they're LPO (calfskin). I do have non-vegan canvas ones that have held up through a great deal of shit and general abuse. It's a pretty strong fabric, but the leather ones do feel much sturdier.

I visited the Miami store again; got to try on some basic preco stuff for Mastodon. Even made friends with one of the sales associates after shooting the shit for a while. Unfortunately, since it's a transition period they didn't really have anything interesting left from Cyclops and they weren't allowed to sell their new stock yet.

Interesting things:
Mastodon has a new Teal color for DL tees, tanks, level tees, etc. I like it honestly and it's apparently been selling well.
The sales associate said it's highly likely men's versions of the Mastodon Tech Runner Socks will come out eventually (FW 17 maybe?).
Memphis jeans are pretty uncomfortable.

I change it up a lot. Most of the time I just use plain criss-cross lacing and wrap around the back. If I want them to sit a little wider I loosen them and don't wrap the laces.

Very occasionally they've had the sawtooth lacing like my Ramones.

I don't think there's any specific way they are supposed to be worn! It's all personal preference. I've tried both styles on all of my Rick shoes and it's been a 50/50 mix what I've liked. Most ricks don't even really need laces to stay on, so it's really up to you.
