As for the shoes them selves the leather, neoprene, and laces are nice but the sole is super soft and scuffs easy so im always paranoid about fucking them up when i wear them. They the best looking "tubular" style sneaker but if they didnt have yohjis name on them they wouldnt be worth more than 250 imo.

Here's the thing. You can get shoes made with similar amounts and qualities of materials by Y-3 for a third of the price around the holidays. I love qasas, but I got a pair of comparable y-3s for 117 after shipping last Christmas. I just don't think they're worth it.

I've owned both tubulars and qasa highs, and I've worn both a lot. The tubulars went to shit early on, as the construction fell apart, it got really nasty, no breathability, etc. They ended up becoming disgusting after about 6 months of heavy usage.

I've been wearing my qasa highs regularly (read: every three days or so, during both summer and winter), and they've lastet for almost two years (fall 2014).

I don't know what it is or why it is, but in my experience, the qasas have lasted way longer than the tubulars, breathes better, and is way more comfortable. My only gripe with the qasas is that the sole gets worn down too quickly. It's very comfortable, but you have to be careful. My qasas are now barely usable due to a hole in my sole, but that's also partly because I've stepped on glass.

Anyways, the real reason for the price tag is the Y-3 brand, but don't let that fool you into thinking quality is not a factor.
