I fell for the meme of parchment Chuck Taylors II
Two questions though - are they supposed to be that tight around the toes? Overall they fit okay, but they feel borderline uncomfortable in the front and I wonder if that's just what they are / will go looser eventually.
Second questions - are these folds/cracks natural, or this also might be connected with me getting size too small?

does it feel a little tight?
it looks like it

It does a bit, I thought that's how it's supposed to be with the new model

Nah, it suppose to feel good.
They must be too small for you.

Too small
thats what you get for falling for a meme
OP I had the same problem. They'll stretch with your feet. Just break them in.

Chucks are normally narrow shoes, even if you got the right length (and I hope you did) - you probably shouldn't have gotten them if you have wide feet. That being said they'll probably loosen up after a couple weeks; they normally come kind of stiff.
To those of you saying they look a little tight, I don't know if you've seen the parchment chuck IIs in real life but that's what they normally look like on feet - for better or for worse.

You can burst a couple of seams on each side and instantly make the shoe wider. I circled the stitches in blue. Burst them and you'll notice the tongue won't be attached to the sides of the shoe anymore, only to the tip. This will give you extra room without visually changing the shoe and without messing up its fit. Makes it easier to access the insoles too, if needed.

iirc they make a chuck taylor 70's version of the cdg x cons. 70's definitely fit a bit wider than normal chucks

Thanks for the comments, but still I'm going to return them and order half size bigger. My biggest concern was my pinky toe - in my previous Converses it was the only part that didn't break in and eventually I perforated it enough to make a hole.
Half a size bigger will still be appropriate for length (in this size I almost touch the end of the shoe with my big finger) and the width should fit.

I have those folds too, in fact some frays in the canvas have developed along them
