I feel the same, I really don't like shorts. But it's usually too hot for pants. I wanted to get some light linen trousers or fresco wool pants.

I think this is a nice laid back look for summer.

Linen shirt from Uniqlo, plain white undershirt, some sort of loose weave wool or cotton pants.

you have to get clothes which experiment with their design in order to stand out from the basic stuff that everyone is wearing
things like cut, pattern, etc can turn something from boring into to interesting and fashionable like pic related
also key is fabric, you dont want to go for things which are naturally warm like cotton and wool, try fabrics like linen or seersucker or blends, typically avoid tight garments and look for airy, roomy stuff, especially if its things like pants and and jackets which arent suited to hot weather

Cotton can be fine for summer, especially pure cotton, since it helps wick away sweat.

And wool can be woven in different ways, for example fresco wool is a very airy weave that lets your skin breathe.

It can be woven into very light patterns that let lots of air move about. Fresco wool is an example. Also, wool dries really quickly, so it can absorb sweat then let it evaporate quickly, cooling you down.

Linen looks like absolute shit unless it's a simple tee, it's like you're in door-to-door salesman mode 24/7, shit makes creases just looking at it, cotton-linen blend is the way to go.

Oh yeah blends are very good, I wasn't saying only pure linen. BUT if the blend has only a little linen then it won't keep as cool.

In some cases, especially for casual wear, even full linen may be ok if the creases are something you like. But a good blend keeps the properties of linen and doesn't cease as much.

Look at fresco weave senpai. I don't tend to sweat much, so I'm fine with chinos even in 90 F weather. Which is 32 C. Once it gets so hot that I'm dripping sweat no matter what, I try to stay indoors anyway.

And wool of course isn't the only option, I think linen pants would be much cooler, except that they wrinkle a lot more and might not go with some fits. To each their own

I think you totally have to take it on a case-by-case basis... some things will last you years and others look like they're already falling apart at the seams in store. I'd advise strongly against online shopping; you have to see the fabrics and feel them in person.

Sorry, one more thing... check the label at the collar to see where it's made. The best stuff at Zara is usually from Spain, Morocco, Turkey and Portugal, moreso than Poland and Romania (where they make a lot of the knits) or India (where most of the beadwork/embellished apparel is from). The Chinese stuff... not so much.
